In terms of photographic books... yup!!!!1 it is HUGE!

In terms of dimensions/size is is about 12" album size and about as thick as a small packet of matches.

I almost paid £150 for it a few years back but ...shit happened etc etc etc.

In terms of my Own photographic lifetime and spiritual quest therein (HA!HA!HA!:D) those 3 books are my ALL.:)

*there is another book that I am soooooooooooo frustrated to not know the name of ...all I can remember of it is that it had a close up shot of a pheasent eye and surround feathers on the cover.

...and Jerry Ulsemann's Sonambulist is a pretty biggun to see too....but I keep away from that'en coz it makes me weep.:o

Well, you know I think *highly* of your creative opinions so I will take a look.

This isnt even my thread and I've commandeered it sorry Chorlton :o

No, not  actually.
Sorry I'm going to pull you up on this one. I know you love a good blag firky, but is it really worth it sometimes?
All that sneaking around at work trying not to get nabbed printing off a 700 page manual.
Not to mention that it's another royalty that Martin Evening won't see For his hard work. I don't know him personally, but we're in the same business and I do know that the work that he puts into those books would put most people to shame.
I mean it's £18.50 FFS. If it were £70 I might hear you, but £18.50?

Sneaking around work? I'd just print it off, I was after all we'd be sent ink and paper for nowt and it isn't as though I'd print of 700 pages, merely the pages that interested me. A taster if you will.

Not that I have to justify myself to the likes of you, but all the same; having spent hundreds if not thousand of pounds on very specailist books from English Law, Philosophy of Religion to Graphic Design books, I think I have paid more than most when it comes to books. Probably spent more on Graphic Design books than any other book: The History of Graphic Design by Meggs, Versus X by Lars Harmsen, The Struggle for Utopia (excellent) by Rodchenko, The End of Print (quite apt!) by David Carson, Dictionary of Graphic Design by Isabella Livingston and of course, Stop Stealing Sheep and find out How Type Works by Spiekermann are just a handful of the books I liked enough to keep on the bookshelf to the left of me as I type. I have spent LOADS on design books - ones that actually teach you something rather than a paint by numbers Photoshop manuals.

Just like music, if I like what I hear, I'll buy it - I do the same with books. I will also give the books away to people when I am finished with them. Which is exactly what I did when I finished uni, I gave them all to the British Heart Foundation as well as simply giving them away to people who I know would benefit or like them. Or are you against that as well?

Now run along and stop downloading MP3s, capitalist jobworth!

You need to grow up sometimes firky, really.

Piss off!

Any book by Thomas Struth that I don't already have is always on my wish list. Don't have a copy of the Dandelion Room yet.

People have mentioned photographers here that are so obviously influenced by Struth. IMO he is the most influential of our generation, and yet few people in Europe no about his work.
