As it happens, two other people didn't appreciate the minor spoiler before me. I was merely riding on their coat-tails.

That's me, the hall monitor for The Wire, carrying around my clipboard noting down who says what when. I deserve the full brunt of your rage!
It was a very minor spoiler, it's not the end of the world, I just politely asked if poului would edit it, and he goes off on one. No one has to do what I say, I'm just a name on a message board. Ignore me if you want to, there's really no need to get so worked up about it.

I would rather the people who are upset by spoilers just didn't read any threads with potential spoilers, because I want to discuss stuff and hate having to be wary of EVERYTHING I say.

There should be rules.
1) If a thread is titled : NO SPOILERS then people can get pissed off if there are spoilers.
2) If a thread is titled : SPOILERS then no one can get pissed off if there are spoilers.
2b) If a thread is titled : SPOILERS it is down to the discretion of the poster to decide whether to use the spoiler code or not, depending on the severity of the spoiler.
3) If a thread title makes no mention either way of spoilers discretion should be used, and the spoiler tag should preferably be utilised. However, if a spoiler is included, those who dislike spoilers may say "oh shit, I didn't want to know that", but an argument after the fact is pointless. A mod should be contacted to then change the thread title to say : SPOILERS, in which case we revert to clause 2 and 2b.

Honestly, when I read the title before I clicked on the thread I assumed OU had watched the end of s4 and was asking questions of people who had watched s5.
This has all turned remarkably petty. There really is no need.

I wouldn't describe it as petty, the problem is a juvenile response top a reasonable request.
Same as if you ask someone to move their car a couple of feet because it’s blocking your drive; ‘I can park the fuck where I like. Who the fuck are you . . .’, and the rest of the usual chavtastic gubbins.
