No, it is
complete cuntishness from Microsoft. Pissed off that somebody (the EU) finally stood up to them, MS decided to make installing this hot new OS as difficult as possible for all Europeans.
Thanks, MS
To be fair, by the time I had read why there needed to be a re-install by the user I still thought Microsoft were muppets. However like Microsoft spending a bit of time to write an uninstaller, I couldn't be arsed to change that bit of the reply in time to hit "post".
or maybe as per usual it's the morons in the anti trust hearings in the EU who have high minded prinicpals which actually impact on the users ability to run the software.
If anyone can remeber this far back this was the problem with XP as well due to EU stating there must be competition (for fucks sake) in the media player market, thus crippling XP for a while in it's ability to play tunes...
When will the EU work with real life examples of real life users rather than the etherial and utterly pointless inferring in companies business models...
FFS there's a reason most people never bother with installing another browser and it's got nothing to do with M$ business practices at all, it's called user lazyness.
Most web traffic is on IE because suprise suprise the biggest supported enterprise systems globally are also on M$ server and the majority of web use comes from corporate networks.
The alternative suggestion which came out of the EU's recent bullshit excuse for a hearing was that they should offer a splash screen allowing users to pick which broswers were installed on first start up, not of course realising that on last count and to ensure fairness there were some 3000 differnet browsers out there...
all this has done is again fucked things for the people it's supposed to represent the EU citizens.
It's not like it's not possilbe to go into a search engine and find a new browser once using the system install by default is it... or are the EU about to ban google from pushing Chrome on it's home page now because of anti trust issues...
so no not M$ who are merely a company with proprioatory system which has a proprioitory browser.
I note JARHEAD fails to mention that apple have never been asked to remove safari from OSX... why the lack of intrest there EU in the intrests of fairness shouldn't everyone in the EU be fucked over by your mental rulings not just those of us on the more common O/S
So not the fault of M$ really the fault of a group of remote twats who make our MP's expense fiddlers look like ammatures and have no connection to the average european but lot's of connections with corporate EU and US companies...
next time JARHEAD at least try and cover up your naked ignorance and utter tiedious M$ bashing bollocks by just not post on M$ releated threads it's fucking dull to hear you bang on and on... and you cunt it makes me feel like i'm defending a pack of cunts, cheers, tosser...
