You're worrying over nothing... Microsoft aren't going to send a SWAT team over just because you've installed a dodgy version of Xp...!

there are fucking tonnes of working XP 'back ups' on teh internets, if you can't work out what to do with them within a day you're too retarded to be allowed on a PC and should go out and buy a Mac.

Perhaps if you tried to learn how to do things instead of relying on others to force feed you, perhaps you too might have this knowledge. So either learn to download and install a copy of Xp (or Ubuntu), or pay Microsoft £££.

Up to you, really...

'learn how to do things'

Isn't that what asking people's advice and answers is then?

What else would you suggest then? DO a search in my local library for Xp for Pirates?

Research your problems on Google. Try things out on your own. Think things through logically.

Yep, ask people's advice, but always do the above first. It can save a lot of time...

honestly!

you're very patronising. it's not very nice to be treated as stupid just because i don't know the answers to every single pc question - especially concerning pirate software!

it probably is, but what's a virtual machine. i have an actual machine.

A virtual machine is like a computer within a computer. Basically I've got a bit of software that pretends to be another machine and allows me to install any OS I like on it.

Of course, you need the CD and an already working computer (I've got ubuntu) so it's of no use to you.

But you don't even try to learn...! Or even take the advice you're given.. And after every piece of advice is the question "What is x...?".

Did you even try put that into Google...? Because if you did you'd of got the answer to your question. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=wh...ls=Swiftfox:en-US:unofficial&client=firefox-a

why should i put it into google, when i can ask the person who posted?

If that offends you then message boards aren't for you, neither i would argue is speaking and talking.

perhaps you should uninstall the chip on your shoulder as you arenot qualified to comment on what you think i do or don't do. there' snothing worse than some numpty on the internet who thinks he knows better about someone than they do themselves.

Because its faster. Because the poster might have gone to lunch. Because the poster might not know. Because if you can learn something yourself it gives you independence...

I'm not the person who's ignoring advice on how to install Xp on his computer for £ 0.00...

well jim, i've decided to risk it all for bully's star prize.

hopefully in the next half an hour xp will be installed.

then i just have the fun and games of dealing with activation and whatever that means along with installing all the drivers and shit.

aren't microsofts products a bundle of joys!

what advice have i ignored then?

That you can download a pirated copy that, while (a) illegal and (b) probably immoral, and not get raided by Microsoft or all your data corrupted. But if you do worry about it there was also advice to buy an OEM copy which might be cheaper. Finally, you were also advised it might be cheaper to just use Ubuntu.

but i didn't ignore any of that. NOT choosing to buy ubuntu isn't ignoring the advice is it.

i'm not sure waht you expect from these sorts of message board discussions?

Interesting you should say immoral; is it more immoral to use pirate software than it is to charget £233 for it (thnks to pc world for that doozy) or £95 for an activation key?

anyway, that windiz place. I notice it asks for private info itself. What is that about and why should I trust them to download my OS updates?
