Windows Vista and Windows XP - could someone explain the differences please

Indexing is possibly quite good. Whether it's up to the standard of the standalone tools to do this that already exist remains to be seen.

Ahh a fatter, more bloated OS that's slower and more restrictive, more annoying than it's predecessor by many orders of magnitude and requires a graphics accelerator and 2gb of ram just to run. Progress.

I need the indexing because my hardrive is a virtual tip.

I'm happier with Vista than I was XP. I like the way Excel takes one second to open for a start. I'm not getting this slowness that others are moaning about.
