Oooh yes, I've seen loads of them around Leicester this past month  Smartly dressed businesswomen with blatant stickers on the soles of their shoes. Why?

Innit...you spend all that cash on a lovely pair of shoes and you cant fucking be bothered to walk in them proprly and your too busy to take the stickers off

it should be a crime....well it is i think:D

not really to do with width of feet - it's pounds per square inch pressure on the balls of your feet - and given that I weight twice as much as I should do and have extremely small feet into the bargain, the pressure on my feet is immense - and that's what causes the pain.

Maybe her of "how clean" has big feet? and anyway, she's probably only a size 16-18.

I'm fat and wear high heels, but I do take size 8's. And I always wear 'party feet' and if the shoe allows it, sorbothane insoles. I like my heels, but they have to be bearable to wear!

I know...everyone knows the first thing you do with any new purchase is take the stickers/tags off! It's part of the exciting ritual of consumerism :D

maybe im a bit anal and take it a step further, but i even scrub offf the sticky bits with some warm water:D

Price labels (shudders)they have to come off everything....make up, toiletries the lot.......

:o

I started wearing stilettos before I was 'allowed'. Must say the folks were right, my heels are a bit misshapen :o
Was wearing 3" 'Sandy' sandals when I was 14/5. Not the best footwear to wear to the London Dungeon.

Tend to wear kitten heels more now tbh, still stilettos and mainly winkle pickers though.

I started wearing heels when i was about 17 and realised i was alot shorter than my friends, i was a tomboy as a kid and lived in trainers.

That's totally normal - if you don't, you might end up with pale fluff sticking to the sticky bits, and then you're basically back where you started

..how old were you when you started wearing them (not as "dressing up" as a little 'un, but as a proper part of your wardrobe) and if you were quite young did your parents give you any grief for wearing them or try to stop you (i've heard people say that they weren't allowed to wear heels when they were young)?

What about the men who wear high heels? Are their contributions not welcome?

i can't remember how old i was but i remember staggering around in stillettoes and feeling like a big woman. :D

mum wouldn't let me or my sister wear high heels for what seemed like ages

I wasn't allowed high heels when I was a kid, cos my insteps are very high, so my mum was concerned that my arches would fall etc. Sensible shoes for me  By the time I was allowed to wear them, I'd become tall and didn't want to exaggerate my height ... I do have a few pairs of 4 inch heels though but rarely wear them - just for the odd occasion.

This stuff's ace

As far as I remember, the first pair of 3" heels I had was for school, I was 16, and they were bought by my mum (I wasn't earning enough to afford shoes).

They weren't stillettos, though, and I cycled to school, so it's not as if I had to walk in them for over a mile each way.

I don't wear high heels much now, but that's because I walk more, and because there are a lot more slopes around here than where I was at the time.

Tried on a lovely pair of quite high ankle boots the other week but in spite of the wider fit, couldn't walk in them - the sole under the toe section was rounded!:(

I don't wear high heels cos I just can't walk in them, I do the leaning tower thing! Highest I have is about 2.5' and even they make my feet ache

Platforms/wedges are ok though and manage just fine in those.

I used to have to hide my platforms in the 70's from my very strict dad. . .and my makeup. . . and my boyfriends. . .and my ear piercings - I was forever grounded and jumping out of windows (mum mode - not wearing platforms)!

I had to put my make-up on after I'd gone out and remember to take it off before I got home again :D

though looking back on it, my mum was probably right, I used to wear purple eyeshadow and bright pink lipstick :o :D

wedges are good, I can stomp around in a normal fashion in them
