The vast majority of cats are lactose intolerant and cows milk will give them the shits. Lower lactose alternatives such as goats milk or specially formulated 'cat milk' are often ok as treats if your cat doesn't have a sensitive tum, but fatty so shouldn't form a regular part of the diet. Even if a cat can tolerate milk, it cannot be used as a substitute for water, as it doesn't provide the same hydration.i wanted to give our cat milk (she goes crazy when we eat ice cream), but the vet said not to give cats milk, as it is very bad for their stomachs.
anyone got any opinions on this?
My cats only drink from the water feature in the garden, glasses of water around the house, or from taps (not nice if they're taps that humans drink from too)- one of them really loves drinking from the bidet and will run after you in the bathroom and miaow at you to turn it on for her![]()

you have a bidet?
You are on The List

I'm actually quite concerned for my cat and his drinking. The only thing i see him drinking is my bath water
i've started to buy cat milk because i want him to drink something
I'm sure he must be drinking puddles when he goes out but i would like to get him drinking a bit more at home, just so that i know he is
