Well, that and the fact that even the discount stores of Croydon seemed almost dignified and empty compared to the chaotic hell of their Brixton versions.

I prefer shopping in Croydon to Brixton (apart from New Park road shops of course).

I went to the "99p or less" store in Brixton today.

I didn't buy anything but I thought it was better than Poundland

They had tubs of Henna Wax but I couldn't be arsed to queue

Got the title slightly wrong but yeah, my ex boyfriend and I once bought a 20 movie boxset from The Works for £10 and Asylum Erotica was one of my faves.

I spent over £30 on dodgy italian horror films - all about cannibals and hitch hikers and horrorible things with nakedness and blood and gore...

There were queues at 8 am for the opening of 99! or whatever its called, with the first 99 people getting a free dinner service.
