Will Self on Question Time

i thought Book of Dave WAS one of his best. He usually has a great idea but gets bored with turning it into a fully-fledged novel (it's why the short stories are better) but Dave is exciting, moving, properly narrative.

Yeh question time was good last night, I enjoyed some of Will's rants.

I cant look at Lembit and not think of the cheeky girls though! :D

I actually have that book but I haven't gotten round to reading it yet. I'll have to bump it up on the list of books I read next.

I personally like Will Self, his ego aside. I think, he cut's through a lot of the bullshit and says what's on his mind so if nothing else I admire him for his honesty. I guess because he isn't a politician he doesn't have to hold himself back for fear of a public backlash.

I did love his face on Question time when the Conservative woman that was sitting next to him was just spouting bland conservative talking points. It was so obvious she had no opinions of her own and Will Self couldn't hide his disgust at her when she was talking.

lol, I know what you mean. It's a shame really because he is one of the few politicians that seems clued up, but now most people just associate him with the cheeky girls and probably won't ever take him seriously.

Yeh, I didn't take him that seriously before (cos of the cheeky girls thing!) but he's got some great ideas, shame the LD's never get anywhere isn't it? :(:D

The labour bloke was a twat.

Most of the Labour politicians who end up on Question Time or Newsnight are always spineless automatons who just spew out the party line, though to be honest as are most of the Tories. It's only with the Lib Dems that you tend to get some honest opinion, I guess it's precisely because they aren't getting in to power any time soon. A shame really, this country seems to bounce back and forth between Labour and the Conservatives and are always surprised when things go wrong yet seem oblivious to the fact there is a third party, the media coverage of the Lib Dems is almost non-existent compared to the other 2 parties so that may have something to do with it.

It'll be interesting come the next election if it's a hung parliament, the Lib Dems might become Kingmakers. I imagine they'd go on Labour side if that happens, but they could swing to the Tories if they got some serious policy concessions.

Also, why isn't Vince Cable leader of the Lib Dems? Nick Clegg is just Cameron lite in my eyes.

The bit I watched - him saying nothing of any worth on the economy - wasn't impressive at all. I didn't watch for too long though. You know that bit in "Father Ted" when Father Jack shouts "How did that idiot get on the television?" He brings that out in me.

I think you'll find it's

"How did that gob-shite get on the television!

Egotisitical, boring, pompous twat who has been dining out for far too long on the fact that he got booted off John Majors plane for shooting up in the bog.
