Wife Swap- on now!

Well I did have a couple of boyfriends who treated me badly when I was a teenager. I think I was amazed they would want to be with me tbh and let them get away with more than I should have. Not violence or anything but them two timing me and letting me down.

Never again.

I but I didnt get the impression he was violent. He'd do it, and make a point of letting her know he was better at it.

I swear he would have cuffed the sleeping boy had the cameras not been there he was itching to....

You know what, I wanst even thinking about that when I posted :o :o I was more considering his relationship with his wife.

You are really right, he was angry enough to abuse his son, he was sure the kid was laying there out of defiance/ laziness. Still not convinced he would smack his wife though.

I think the thing I found most disturbing was at the end when he was furious with her for having stayed in the dirty house. Angry with HER FFS. He was a truly nasty person. Really hateful and spiteful.

My thoughts throughout this were - they had a massive go at Channel 4 for allowing racial abuse to be shown on CBB, but woman abuse is just sooooo normal, we can all sit and watch that woman be controlled by frankly a poor excuse for a man!!!! I feel like complaining about it! And she just had to sit there and take it! AND - it was made worse by the fact that, when she went into the alternative household, her methods appeared to garner better results, so the thought might be that their way was best!!!

I don't think for a second he would ever raise his hand to her, sadly thats about all he has going for him.

Abuse is about more than physical violence. Physical violence is a nice easy one to see, whereas emotional control (you WILL do things my way!!!) is equally damaging.

Yup. Been through that not nice. Its taken me about two years and lots of support to accept that I'm not as worthless as my ex said I was.

I don't know which woman I feel more sorry for! The one that is treated like a slave or the one who doesn't know how to work a cooker.

oh my god, tonights episode - how low do they need to scrap this barrel?
Yep this used to be my favourite reality thingy. I love having a look in their houses and seeing what they get up to but it's a bit sad now. The bloke is drunk isn't he? They're not on a journey where they realise where they're going wrong they're on the tele and that's enough.

A bit of a bland one but how can you top last weeks show?

The woman freaking out at the end over Tigger and Winnie the Pooh was fucking comedy gold though.

I just think they're a load of 'normal' people really, who very obviously won't get on if they swap lives. Theres no big surprise anymore is there.
So they've learned a load of shit behaviour from their parents. We all have.

You have to feel sorry for them that they're willing to show the rest of the country just how vile they are.

Is anyone watching this about the survivalist family vs the Jewish family?

The temper on the survivalist husband! Jesus.

To put it politely, he had issues.

I expected him to explode.

It amazes me that people go on this programme and then seem surprised that the 'swap' is completely at odds with themselves. Have they not watched the programme - it relies on a clash between the parties.

Spot on bigbry! People dont ask 'Why were WE picked?'

What continually surprises me is not necessarily the behaviour of the "full on " partner, its the 'See no evil' attitude of the more submissive partner.

Yes you love your husband and naturally you'll take his side, but you know what, if you have just seen him brow beat, threaten and frighten another woman for an hour, AK-fucking-KNOWLEGDE it!

"Jason is quiet as a lamb usually, if he's got that angry, then it will be because he was pushed and provoked."

Made a pleasent change to see everyone get on this week.

Quite. Saw tonights ep and was surprised at how civilised everyone was being. Apart from the woman being dismissive of the guy's lodger it was actually nice viewing.

Got it on in the background but too preoccupied with my stupid printer at mo!

I only watch Mistresses and Wife Swap honest.:)

I've got friends from Holland and they love Wife Swap too. They watch it to see how other people live. It's anthropologicalish.:D

Both tonights lot have issues, does no one believe in moderation in all things
