God, the whole family are so rude.

Look at the wife laughing at how nasty her husband was about the peas.

"She's not worthy"

The son with the chain knows where the power lies in his family and he sides with it.
(He kept reminding me of one of those boys who were cleared of killing stephen Lawrence).

Oh my god I want to kill him..... aggghhh what a rude, arrogant horrible man

I feel sorry for his wife, I don't think she dare stand up to him :(

I stopped feeling sorry for his wife when she was laughing at his behaviour and agreeing with him.

And I pity anyone their boys marry. :(

Normally i watch Wife Swap and think 'you're a bit of a dick' but i actually hate this man with every fibre of my being. What came across most was how when his wife wasnt under his control she was a perfectly sound human being, in fact along the daughter of the harridan came across as really intelligent and insightful. Once she was next to him again it changed completly.

How did they get away with saying 'shit' before the watershed?

bloody television!! TURN IT OFF!! :p

(I am a bit jealous i couldnt watch this, i used to quite like wife swap. :( )
It was a doozy! :)

Still not given in to the siren call of the television.... impressive! Im sure you can see it on 4OD. It would be worth it actually- it was a good show last night.

IHB- totally agreed about Debbie Henderson changing when she was back with her husband. Its sad, but her failure to chastise her husband for abusing her son curtailed my sympathy somewhat.

Whether Rob has harangued her into this position or it's her natural state, her first duty should be to protect her children and in the bed tipping instance she failed. Also feeding another woman's children meat is .

Unlike putting pork pie into the nut roast i didn't have a problem with that. The children have had their mothers diet forced on them and Debbie just gave them a choice to eat what they wanted and they chose to eat meat. I thought in the aftermath that was the one good point that Debbie raised was about how could the haridan say they were to young to understand the concept of meat but were perfectly old enough to understand mummy is shagging a woman.

yeah Idon't have a problem with it either tbh, if they wanted to try it then they should be able to and form their own decisions, I understand why this is hard for their Mum but it's for them to try too :)

the nut roast was appalling though

I disagree with this. I occasionally look after a child who is vegetarian and I wouldn't dream of giving her meat. It's the decision of her mother and I have to respect that.

Just as I wouldn't be happy if someone fed my son full of crap as it affects his behaviour. :(

The bloke putting the pork pie into the nut roast was evil though. And it shocked me that the son was laughing about it. And that they were laughing at her when she was eating it.

Rarely has a programme on TV made me as mad as that one!

even if said child said to you (and don't forget their dad was there too) that they wanted to try it?

I'm all for educating those kids and letting them make their own choice :)

feeding your kid full of crap because it has an effect on his behaviour is slightly different though, there is an end result to that that those kids didn't have (eating meat doesn't affect their behaviour)

Yeah, the kids should have a choice about whether they want to be veggies or not, but personally I think its their mother / father they need to have that conversation with, not the swap mummy.

I dont know if her motives were pure; I was mostly thinking Debbie encouraged the change in diet to spite the harridan mum. She disapproved of the lifestyle and changing the diet was one of the things she could influence.

As for Rob and his foul son spiking the nut roast- it was so corrupting and disgusting.

Ah, I forgot the dad was there. :o

I don't know tbh. She doesn't eat meat for religious reasons afaik so I guess it is a little different. I'd have to get the parents permission though, it's not my place to decide what the children do or do not eat. :)

I never heard that mentioned.
I think moomoo meant her friends child :)

I agree that her motives were dubious, but I stand by my thoughts though, they were old enough to have that conversation and voice their interest. I suspect their mum wouldn't have been open to the conversation which makes me sad

I think you'll find, over time, that there would be a definite change.

btw, i know people who have brought their kids up as strict vegetarians and i think its a bit mean to be honest. you should really be able to decide what you want to eat when you're growing up as far as i'm concerned.

I meant it in context to how moomoo's lad is after eating certain food :) then there is an instant change, a slow change over time isn't really up for debate here :)

yeah i know. just felt like getting my tuppence worth in

its pretty twisted, giving someone else's kids food that their parents dont want them to have, whatever it is

Yes, ideally the kids would say to mum "we want to try sausages," and they could have the discussion and kids make a choice.

I dont think Jane (harridan!) would have been receptive, its a principalled point for her. In fact I rather got the impression in the aftermath show that the kids were back being veggie. Maybe they can have sausages at dad's house?

I dont have a problem with kids being raised veggie, the kids can make a decision when they are old enough to ask for different food. Veganism is different however.

Totally agree with this. (I feel like WoW!!)

but their dad was there

I've been thinking about the wife as I was cleaning the tops of my doorframes and the skirting boards.

Why would she stay with a man like that? I wondered if, due to her disability, she thought that this bloke was the only man who would have her? Perhaps they married young and she doesn't know that in most homes things are very different?

Still don't like her because she allows him to treat the kids badly but there must be a reason why someone would put up with it. She can't be proud of him surely?

but relationships are weird things aren't they, I've known intelligent women stay with violent husbands because they thought thats as good as they would get

See, I couldn't stay with anyone who didn't treat me like a princess. I guess I was spoilt.

I wonder what would happen if she just told him to sod off and do his own cleaning and cooking?

I think his wife telling him to do his own cleaning would be the only thing which would shake Rob out of his arrogance and complacency. I think he'd act as if he was being hard done by, but I didnt get the impression he was violent. He'd do it, and make a point of letting her know he was better at it.

Would that we all have your sense of self worth Moomoo. To be respected,
held and cherished, and to do the same in return is what Id want for myself and for any future children I may have.
