Wicker Man Festival

We went to see them but ran screaming from the tent during their first song, when they started intoning "Carry my cross, carry my cross"
Just listened on their myspace, and we might have been a bit hasty. :D

My favourite Previous Unknowns were Japlaster - very young lads who played a punk/ska version of that Proclaimers song about 500 miles :D

You don't think that the name might have been a clue? :D

Enough of this nonsense - it is time due reverence was paid to the Lord of all Wickers:

I saw them too - I was photographing them during that very song, they were very young and very lively weren't they!

I saw the end of the SJ infirmary set and they were tasty in a camera obscura meets pavement kind o' way + they were fairly varied in approach, I don't mind my indie as long as it's scottish:D .

You (or anyone else) don't by any chance recognise this lot?

they were soul/funk/jazzy - I didn't especially like it tbh but I need to tag the photo!

On Saturday in the World Music tent? I think they were called Sidewinder, they weren't too bad.

went the last couple of years, but as looking at the weather forecast for this year I decided it would be safer this year to go south to Glade, rather than north for this..

..well that worked.

Glad you all had a nice time, and equally glad to see that the mad bad piratey bloke is still playing the records in the beer tent, even if they are only by the Proclaimers and big country ;)

We were treated to The Who's Squeezebox and bloody Cotton Eye Joe on numerous occasions this time.

Nice review, Cyberfairy :)

Looking at your pics, we were stood inches from you all weekend

Aye - I must have been stood next to you for the two Red Injuns doing the rain dance in their costumes.

Come on - more photos!

A friend is ranting away on a local board about this & changes to the traders arrangements this morning - She & her partner had a stall & members of one of the bands in her van & was refused entry on the first evening. Although they stuck to their guns & eventually gained admission!

Otherwise, she had a good time. :)
to be fair, i suppose it was our fault, nothing much they could have done

aye, rankin roger's bit in jah wobble's set was prob about the highlight for me, imo better than the beat themselves
