Wicker Man Festival

Yup - I think I can remember what you look like, though you were somewhat 'refreshed' last time I saw you :D
I'll look for someone in big shoes with a plate of cheesy chips. :)
My big platform boots broke at last festie so might be in ill advised even bigger platform-look for me at St John ambulance:D
If there's a meetup, can it be Friday as will be with t'dreams family on Saturday? Must try not to be too refreshed then!

Ooh-looks like good weather for Friday and Saturday:)
If anyone wants to meet up, shall we say 2pm on Friday outside beer tent on the right hand side?

- Oh, God! Oh, Jesus Christ! Oh, my God! Christ! No, no, dear God! No, Christ!
- Mighty god of the Sun, bountiful goddess of our orchards, accept our sacrifice and make our blossoms fruit.

- Accept our sacrifice and make our blossoms fruit!
- Mighty god of the Sun, bountiful goddess of our orchards...
- Hear ye the words of the lord!
- ...accept our sacrifice and make our blossoms fruit.
- Awake, ye heathens, and hold! It is the Lord who hath laid waste your orchards! It is he who hath made them bare!
- Reverence the sacrifice.
- Hold, ye husbandmen, because the harvest of your field hath perished and the vine is dried up and the apple tree languisheth! Even all the trees of the field are withered because the truth is withered away from the sons of men. Desire shall fail and ye shall all die!

:D

Just burn the pig cunt.

its a nice little festy. the lineup can be a bit erratic (last year's was spectacular in its appalling-ness) but its in a top place, with a nice atmosphere. very beer fuelled, and the dance music setup is ace :)

there's all sorts of random excitement too - its just before the local flounder tramping contest, and near something called devil's porridge, how can you go wrong :)

giving it a miss this year, as its a trawl of death to get to, and I wanted to do glade instead :)

cant wait now; should be spinning a few tunes in the reggae tent at some point; looks like the weather might not be too bad, fingers crossed

Very excited!

Last year the line up was poo, but Eek-a-Mouse was fuckin' awesome, the Amphetameanies were too and the dub tent played a whole culture album when I was feeling sorry for myself.

This year's line up looks well better.

Well that was a blast! No rain to speak of, loads of excellent young Scottish punk and ska bands, porridge with whisky, excellent performances from Fun Lovin' Crims, the Orb, the Beat, Neck, the Hussys, and the marvellous Kazoo Funk Orchestra, topped off by an splendid incineration of the WM himself!

Nice to see Superape and t'missus and Velouria. One day, Cyberfairy, one day :D

Lucky you not getting rained on moose

I think the weathers moving up the country, so you timed it about right probably :)

Aye that was a blast - our best yet I think.

My legs are completely done in & I appear to be mentally confused.

Great atmosphere, good times, and we want a word with Mr Moose about those truffles - Mrs Ape should not have to rest 3 times on the way back to the tent :D !

haha - he's fucking legendary mr moose! :D I turned down his truffles when I met him, on account of being totally incapacitated by his spliffs :D

Everyone's always so busy scoffing them they don't seem to notice that I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole cos I see what goes in them :D

The webmates we were with had 1/4 of one each. Being not normal indulgers they had to go for a bit of a lie down.

I'll have two next time :D

Oh no! :o Hope they were ok

Lol they were fine - met up with them for the burning!

I do remember being completely muntered - Tennent's Super & Mr Moose's special stuff is powerful magic!

Well, that was a bloody fantastic festival! Thanks to Tangerine Dream and CyberFairy for making the whole thing very entertaining - love your mum TD!

Definitely going next year. My favourite thing was the lack of southerners (awaits flaming)

:D

I was trying not to say that (although I was a relative Southerner myself, for once) :D
There's no crystal-bothering healing bollocks, either, which is a plus. And instead of poncey 'workshops' for kids they have football coaching from Gretna FC. Up yours, WOMAD. :p

I think the real credit should go to my sister to be honest :D

I really enjoyed it too, Wobble was ace, some band I saw in the Solus tent who I can't remember the name of was ace too and the Orb were pretty darn good, though I still can't hear out of one ear cos I got wedged by a speaker.

I think the lack of Southerners gives the festival a less pretentious feel and thus the whole thing feels less like a fashion parade... :D

Was good.

that was a crackin weekend; my band didnt get to play cos we turned up too late:( but had a great time anyway; easy star dub all stars were brilliant, as was jah wobble, and spent most of the rest of the time in reggae tent

Fab to meet you again-thanks for being so great in face of chaos! TD's mum been raving about you both:)
Having week of detox now... *checks watch, taps feet*
My notes for whole weekend were obliterated by a packet of open wet wipes and now have to write 1000 words with nothing but a hazy memory of goodness and wine:D

A friend is ranting away on a local board about this & changes to the traders arrangements this morning - She & her partner had a stall & members of one of the bands in her van & was refused entry on the first evening. Although they stuck to their guns & eventually gained admission!

Otherwise, she had a good time. :)

Nice festival, shame about the dogs

A very nice festival overall apart from the use of sniffer dogs which I felt was a bit OTT ...

Got pulled in and had the car given the once over, but use of the Force resulted in a happy outcome. A friend was not so lucky on the way into the main arena :(
