unfortunatly NI politicions arn't really up to the task.
whatever happens there are going to be protestant and catholic communitys on that bit of land and they have to start working together.
How you do that is way beyond my pay grade.
blathering on about class based politics when members of the working class hate one another or are planning to kill each other isn't really helping

The much vaunted 'Peace Dividend' hasn't been seen by the vast majority of the working-class.

Well apart from no longer living in state of siege with armed cunts giving you shit on a daily basis - no.

Trouble with the GFA is that its in the interests of both sides to keep the sectarianism as the defining feature and they're seems to be very little cross communtiy work - and certainly not the type thats going to make the catholic and prodestant w/class make common cause.

The irony for me with northern ireland regarding the loyalist community that they have far more in common with the catholics in terms of culture they do with the english - they're all northern irish.

I've noticed this from playing music over there at various late night sessions - I cant tell who is form which communtiy, they're telling the same sort of jokes, have the same love of daftenss, eating the same food, use the same figures of speech and often playing the same tunes. Then you walk home and you see the kerbstones on one side of the street painted red white and blue.

are you really this stupid? Do you think the conflict has lasted this long just because workers over there take their theology so seriously?

No I am not the two communities are very divided for all sorts of reasons but the division is very real one.
saying class based politics is a solution is a bit like arguing nuclear fusion would solve all our problems yes but no one ones built a fusion reactor yet.
I'd be happy if the two communties thought the peace walls could come down how you go from here to a point where no body hates you to a point where which version of chrisitanity you may or may not worship at is of no intrest I'm not sure.
