Why Socialists should support Respect

@ redquirrel, butchers, pastcaring - I understood what butchers was saying, and I agree with him to an extent. But he said "He's pontificating about the miners strike when i bet he was barely born when it was taking place." I was a wee nipper when the miner's strike was taking place, but I do have an opinion on it.

..and the other two points Matt? Presumably your silence signals your agreement, and that you too would like to know the answers to the questions?

And there's a difference between having an opinion and pontificating......

(a distinction, unfortunately, lost on webel and his ilk).

Okay, tosser - be a man and prove your 'revolutionary credentials' by going and making fun out of Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and Gandhi...

Fuck I wish I had your sense of humour...

There were these 2 liberals and a racist...

Malcolm X was not a racist in his last year of his life though...Out of the three, I prefer him to Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

Fuck me some of the Respect supporters on here really do whore themselves to their leadership don't they. Do Respect / Swappie meetings have a box at the door in which members can deposit any indepedent thought? Or are lobotomies compulsory?

Meanwhile while what should be our largest and most effective left party is doing deals with the type of conservative muslim that would quite like to oppress people like me, I'm living in a consituency which looks like it will either return the first ever fashist MP of post war times or at the very least show a jump in support for them.

I believe Ian D has been out and about in Bethnal Green and Bow canvassing for Respect. This should result in a considerable increase in votes for Oona King.

I'd imagine he's had a right mullah-ing more than once if he actually talks to people face to face in the same way as he posts on here...
