"Why Not Be A Writer?"

I wouldn't pay for one of these writing courses; I think writer's groups can be a much better, much cheaper and very useful resource for feedback.

That said, publishing online can be a great way of getting an audience, and eliciting feedback too.

The 'experts' are usually only described as such because they've been published themselves (at least once) - but that just means they're an expert on getting that one book published. It certainly doesn't mean they've found a secret worth passing on. There are so many formulaic writing teachers out there who quash individuality and creativity by insisting on following commercial rules, because that's how you get published.

In some cases, it might be. But it's no way to create a masterpiece.

The best way to learn how to write will always be, to write - every day, and for at least an hour. If you can't do that, you'll never be a decent writer, imo.

That's right, consistency is the key. You have to do it *every* day, no excuses, ever. I believe that anyone who writes for one hour and reads for one hour every day for twenty years will end up a successful writer.

I can't wait to read your book.
