I had loads of reservations about going - mainly no dammers, obv., but also the idea of a nostalga trip and soiling good memories.
At one point I was adament that I wasn't going to go, but then a ticket presented itself.
Anyway...
What a fucking gig!
I'd forgotten how intense the old two tone atmosphere was. Yes it was all old boys, but there were still a lot of hard nuts there. Brought back memories of swirling around on the terraces, amongst other things. Everybody going crazy at the front (and as far back as I could see) even before the gig started. To be honest I was knackered before the band got on, and wondered if I would last the distance, but luckily second wind kicked in.
Thought it was a great set - musically, they are probably even better than back in the day (which surprised me, having seen them on jools), and the performance was very honest IYKWIM, energetic but not forced. Terry was committed and quite sweet, even humble at times (though not while baiting the gooners in the crowd

).
All in all a very memorable night, and I would urge the doubters to try and get hold of a ticket - and get down the front.
