This may have come across wrong. I mean: you seriously think that 3000 years of philosophy did not produce 1 scrap of evidence for God yet carried on believing it. I mean, I would have thought that one could povide evidence for anything that does not exist, evidence that would require someone to provide counter evidence.

I do genuinely think that scientism/positivism/empiricism is a bad thing: this is not unusual among Marxists. The simpler thing to do would be to explain why you you are not doing those things, rather than just being unnecessarily rude and pissing off: you only make yourself look like the loser, in my eyes at least. Ok, i think there is some potential for an enlightening discussion here, for me at least, on the beliefs of scientists. You WOULD, is Spinoza's proof of God worked say, not agree with it because of a lack of empirical support? How can you justify this, considering that empiricism/positivism/scientism holds this as the case quite essentially; and these are often thought of s the enemy.
