Why does everyone hate the Manics?

THB was a great album. The rest of it I can take or leave, although I agree that Motorcycle Emptiness was a good pop-rock record.

I mean, they were amusing to start out with all that posturing and whatnot
but the music has always been tiresome and they've become a great deal less fun.

The Alarm did the same thing so much better

In fairness, whatever the Manics' own strengths and weaknesses, they're a whole lot more interesting than the damned Sterephonics, who they're usually compared with. A more arse-dull band than they I struggle to think of - well, with the obvious exceptions of Travis and their ilk!

their broader appeal is that they promise revolution! danger! ideas!
and so on but actually they are pedestrian and unchallenging.
A sheep in wolves clothing as it were.

and the welsh are everywhere - they just don't make as embarrasing a fuss about it as the Irish or Scots. Good for them I say!

it's true he's really italian and is really called salvitori editori the real person who edits this site is called Willum and was an eton educated Toff...

They're a good live band and I like some of their stuff, regardless of whether the music trendies around here approve or not.

There's loads of good Welsh music.

I just don't really like their music much. It's not so bad now you don't hear much of them, but 7 or 8 years ago they could get quite annoying.
