Why does everybody hate Paul McCartney?

Oooh yeah, I hate him too.

Phil Collins, Paul McCartney, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Bono and Chris Martin.
They are all in our sanctimonious twat band. Kill them all in the face.

A drummer, and multinstrumentalist, a bass player, a synth dude, a guitarist and a pianist! And they can share vocals!! Yes I think we have a band :)

Hurrah.:D

What should their first release be?

The premise of this thread is wrong anyway.

Macca is one of those rare figures, like Elton, who the 'great british public' has taken to their hearts a la Queen Mother.

There's been a huge outpouring of sympathy and affection for him recently.

I enjoyed his 'authorised' biog - "Many Years From Now" - partly because it gave an insight into some of the strategies he used to keep sane over the years despite the pressure of never being able to relax anonymously except on remote farms etc.

I haven't really followed his music for years, but I thought the second Fireman CD 'Rushes' was pretty good (and tailor made for tripping on shrooms). I'm sure he still indulges now and then.

Too many egos in one band!!! They could do a song for charity about starving children in rainforests that are being cut down but not in a fair trade kinda system so could the public give some money cos the pop stars cannae afford it!:D

I just been listening to Ram, for the second time this evening.. what a great album.

Why does everybody hate the guy? He also put on a top notch show at Glastonbury acouple years back - opening with Jet.

Give the guy a break.

I like a fair amount of his music. There are good songs on Ram: how can you not like Monkberry Moon Delight?

I like most of Band on the Run, I like Venus and Mars.

But Paul the man. There's something about his unnatural, unnerving boyishness that sets my teeth on edge.

Not everybody here hates Paul McCartney. Some have expressed a liking for some of his songs.

I hate him though. I don't see any reason why I need to justify this anymore than I need to justify not liking sour milk, stale bread, flat beer, cardigans, hat racks or pizza leaflets.

He's just some old bloke from a grossly over-rated boyband who won't let it lie. Like Robbie, but not as fit.

I love Paul McCartney.

He is ace.

Ebony and Ivory, live together in perfect harmony side by side on my piano keyboard oh lord why can't we.........

How can you say this?

"Give Ireland Back To The Irish
Don't Make Them Have To Take It Away
Give Ireland Back To The Irish
Make Ireland Irish Today"

Nah, I quite like macca. He knocked out some good old tunes back in the days. And I thought he was brilliant at Glastonbury, highlight of the weekend for me.
