why do villa keep buying toss?

Feels like Sunderland got in more than nine players, but obviously not.

That Kenwyne Jones from Southampton doesn't look cheap does he?

Rumour was Danny Murphy was of those Roy Keane was in for, but Keane pulled out quite late (of the deal, thank you).

Very quite at Spurs on rumours, might be a late flurry I suppose.

I watched Villa against Fulham on MoTD and it blew me away.
Villa were entertaining. Who would have thought Villa and entertaining were that close in the same sentence.

This is the club that has sent me to sleep more times than any other team I've watched by a factor of about 10.

so, 32million spent, no money recouped, only one player with proven premiership experience. and WE'RE to blame for pushing prices up.

Nice post :)

Thought that Sunderland had spent quite a bit, but .... they'd better hope that they stay up or they may go the way of Leeds.

I was quite surprised by the signings of Harewood and Knight but we need more players and I reckon those two will work hard for a place. I reckon we'll be pleasantly surprised.

NRC is class, just what we needed, and Curtis Davies looks to be on his way, a real talent (bit pricey though).

Now all we need is a right back and right midfielder (Glen Johnson and Wayne Routledge have been mentioned) and that'll be us sorted til January.

I trust MON's judgement. His decision to join us was a real coup, never forget that.

9 players, £3.7 mill a piece.

Only half the story of course as wages are the other. Danny Murphy offer was apparently accepted at £1 mill, but he wanted £20,000 a week, which Sunderland didn't want to pay.

I doubt it. I somehow doubt they've had to pay even a fraction of the wage bill at Leeds. Similarly I reckon they'll have set their contracts up to ensure that salaries drop massively in the event they're relegated
