Why is it called Dave?


'UKTV explained that Dave's name was chosen on the grounds that 'everyone knows a bloke called Dave'

However I reckon yhat it's a homage to Only fools and horses - Trigger but they won't admit it!!!

Any thoughts? apart from why am I wasting my time with this drivel?

I reckon the last thing anyone ever hears, as civilisation lies smouldering after the apocalypse, and the ozone layer is just a few lengths of reflective fabric strung together with tape, is the tagline, 'alright Dave?!' broadcast by no-one from a flickering half-dead telly... and the last ever human, who shall be called Dave, will raise his head one last weary time, and say, 'no, I'm havin a bit of a shocker actually!' before falling finally, face-down into the dust
