But I can understand why people get bored of it.
My Good Lady Wife and I will be attending coming straight from Motorheadache - A tribute to Lemmy.![]()
it's not ideal but promoters do get left with this as the only option. Corsica is too straight & expensive.Onket said:I'd go if it was somewhere else too.
I know loads of people who hate the griminess of the place as well, whereas I quite like it
OTOH I have an irrational dislike of the Foundry - I fucking hate going to that place, even though rational sense tells me it has its good points. (The toilet graffiti makes it worthwhile though.)Onket said:You're lucky that the punters put up with it. By rights we should be voting with our feet. If we support this shit hole then it will remain the only option won't it.
has it changed a lot since the Gimpo days??

What happened to The Dungeons? I had some cracking nights there.bang said:It is hard to find a good venue for a party though..not on a "back in the day" rant but a few years ago you had Pleasure Rooms, Trenz, Tyssen St, the Premises, the George to choose from for your less commercial techno-esque ventures..
..now half of those places have been turned into yuppie flats![]()
and now the Oylmpics are coming to "regenerate" all those Hackney warehouses![]()

I'm not going there again anyway.
I quite like it..

Great to see a big U75 turn out. As the for the venue, it kinda works as a space, i'm sure it'll be gone very soon, but yeah everyone's pissed off with owner.
Really nice energetic vibe. It was boiling in there though, and it bugged me that we weren't allowed to go outside and cool off. Couldn't stay all night as had to escort my sleepy friend home, but had a great time while I was there and enjoyed meeting new people and catching up with old friends

Skim said:I enjoyed that, the music was right up my street... although both sound systems (especially the one in the smaller room) were way too rough on the ears. I think I've been spoiled by that rig at Corsica though...
Good to meet you May, sorry I was flitting around too much for a decent chat. I think all that, er, Red Bull made me a bit impatient![]()
I was gasping for fresh air by the end too, although it was a bit ventilated at the back of the second room. But upstairs was rank![]()

In a purely selfish fashion, I'm well glad he's back in the UK cos I always enjoy hearing him play out! Not to mention taking the piss out of him afterwards, of course
I had a similar experience, I had to go, the music wasn't doing it for me and a great party was kicking of in Enfield and there was a car waiting so my choice to go was really a no brainer and when I walked into that party I knew beyond any doubt that I had made the right choice. I've had great nights at Uglyfunk but Manik was always going to top it.LD Rudeboy said:I thought the music was really mediocre and not a patch on Serious Business, Housebreaking, Re-Rave-All, etc. I'm not sure how much was down to the sound or coming hyped up from Motorheadache.
I barely danced at all.![]()
