Sisko suffers from the fact that he was pretty much stuck on that dull station with it's cast of uninspiring wrinkly faced oddballs

Why do people with sci-fi roles on their CV get other scifi roles as if they have somehow graduated sci fi actors academy?

Little kid from lost in space - Babilon 5
That russian bloke from star trek - Babilon 5
That japanese bloke from star trek - heros
That other bloke with the handset from quantum leap - Batllestar Galactica
Apollo from battle star Galactica - the bad prison guy from battlestar galactica

Etc etc.

the US sci-fi actors community is hugely incestuous, thats why. See Farscape characters taking different roles in stargate etc..

when she wasn't trying to do Hepburn

...that's exactly what was good about her, she was an intergalactic Katherine Hepburn. Though why they initially saddled her with Mrs Bridges wig from Upstairs Downstairs is anybody's guess.

I always saw it as more in the style of Anne of Green Gables's adoptive mother Marilla Cuthbert. :)

You mean mature / not gung-ho ? ;)

I just checked and I'm exactly the same age as Patrick Stewart was when he first played Picard in 1987 :eek:

It wasn't that that really bothered me it was the crappy way the universe really didn't change over time or how they used stupid plot devices to leave the episode as it started.

Compare that to Babylon 5 or even these days with Battlestar Galactica, Lost or Heroes...

Ronald D. Moore, the producer of Carnivale and writer for Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, boldly re-imagined the original 1978 space opera of humans versus the robotic Cylons. He teamed up with co-executive producer David Eick on a powerful and dramatic update of the Galactica story.
The modern show introduces new elements to the Galactica story.

no, i mean picard was too uppity and proper and was always looking down his nose at everyone....bleedin' righteous bastard he was :p

too bad the borg didn't keep him forever :D

100% split thusly...

Sisko :: 45%
Picard ::40%
Janeway :: 8%
Archer :: 4%
Kirk :: 3%

I don't dislike Janeway, Archer or Kirk, but they don't come close

yeah well at least Kirk has a sense of humour and always got his shirt ripped in some fight. Picard was usually to busy being serious and eating pate and caviar on toast. :p :D

if i was on some ship cruising thru the galaxy i'd much rather have J. T. Kirk at the helm
