*could* be the date they qualified. 8th Oct sounds about right for England- I do remember when I heard they'd done it it was a Saturday during the Blackpool lights season.......and the 8th was a Saturday.

Is this sure knowledge? I think I must have slagged RubberBuc off once too often, he's not answering any of my posts these days

Perhaps he c&p-ed the list from somewhere else (Fifa?), and couldn't help but include some random aspect like qualification dates...?
