Who went to Rosie's book launch?

The owner of Boca was really friendly and as a result we used to shop there a lot, but Rosie is a better business woman and clearly has better media connections.

Her cheese however is poor - not well kept for the price. I'd rather buy cheese at the Portuguese deli.

Wild Caper's produce is excellent but the service applalingly slow.

IMO the best deli in Brixton (and the best cheese by a country mile) is Spoon.

I agree that the service in Wildcaper is appalling. Spoon is the wrong end of Brixton for me, sadly.

Funny that no-one has mentioned Honest Food :D

(What is that awful smell in there? Never smelled that bad when it was Pushkar.)

I've never been. Went in a few times when it was a very understocked deli. Is it any good?

I use Honest Food quite a bit and can't say I've noticed any 'awful' smells.

Their coffee is shit, but they do some tasty salads and toasties, although the quality can be variable. Their veggie breakfasts are excellent and not bad value too.

Oh yes? I seem to remember the brekkie prices being pretty high.

Perhaps I'll try again. It's been a while since I went in, cos of the smell.

It was fairly consistent, to the point where I mentioned it to the proprietor. He was puzzled, said he didn't smell anything.

That put me off going in. Not the smell so much (it happens and can be fixed) but the fact that the man behind the counter couldn't smell it. How clean was his kitchen and fridge if he couldn't smell the pong??

Wild Caper have some decent cheeses, but the selection is small and the price is high.

But they are good cheeses.

and the bread is amazing, as good as the poilane sourdough and better value, am I right in thinking its made at franco manco? anyway i reluctantly bought a wholemeal one last week as they had nothing else left and my god it was delicious.

I can't say I've ever smelt anything, so, err, maybe the smell was coming from elsewhere?

:D

now I really wanna go!! consider that queue a little bit bigger :D
That dude in the queue with the baseball hat, wolf embroidered jacket and Gola bag is 100% hipster.

Mind you, the pizzas are well worth queuing for and damn cheap. Finest in London, in my experience.

Actually I'm not sure the cafe I'm thinking of was the same one, although it was owned by a Scottish woman.

Ignore me anyway, I'm anyhow today :( :D
