Who wants a free jar of Peanut Butter?

I noticed it in my nearby Tesco Superstore so bought a jar because of this thread.

It says to stir it on the lid but this was impossible without a suitably sized stirring paddle attachment for my electric drill. I managed to gouge out a serving-sized lump which got coated in the oil on the way out.

It was rather tasteless compared to my usual no added salt Meridian. I suspect this must be due to the skinning process and roasting or lack thereof (not sure which).

I've just got a new batch of this and there is less oil, and it's much easier to stir in than the previous one. Maybe it's a different load of peanuts.

So it appears that you can't buy this stuff in the UK anymore. :(

Been looking through loads of suppliers and the only sites which still sell it are the US ones which charge huge shipping fees.

Will have to look for a new favourite.

I still swear by "Essential" - and "Suma" seem to be back in the game - not much to choose between them.
I don't recommend "Meridian".

Not really a peanut fan, but I’m surprised by the lack of love for Meridian when their almond, cashew and pistachio butters are so sublime.

Thank you. :)
Ordered the giant one.
Lasts for ages

as an aside, bought these in asia earlier this year.. i can strongly advise against if you ever see them - nasty artificial mush. if you wanna do PB&J, sunpat and a jar of co-op finest raspberyy jam is the way to go...

Are you offering free jars of peanut butter again? :hmm:
