Hollis came over once with his CDs n promptly fell asleep.
supasta DJ i think not! ;) :p

I'm sure Keith Moon fell asleep in afew unusual place. Rock 'n' Roll. innit.

No-one's mentioned Blagsta or isvicthere -- both great.

I like Wrongspeed and Skim a lot.

Hollis I'd vote for you if I'd ever been around when you'd dunnit. You're now going to tell me I was once! :o

Same with LDRudeboy -- I've only heard two choons of a set from him while I was very drunk.

Dub's a professional, doesn't need my vote :p but he gets it anyway ...

I like editor and Maggot's tuneage a lot as well. PK well knows how to DJ also ...

Finally, but now leastly, lets hear it for the rootstastic RUTABOWA!!

Not one single mention for ianw.. undoubtedly the GREATEST chune selector in the game.

ROCK ON TOMMY, ROCK ON!!!

I vote you, me and Choc. By the looks of it, us smallfry backroom lot need to stick together... ;)

I managed to clear a lot of the backroom with my last set by starting off with "We are all Prostitutes" by The Pop Group.

xes is the best DJ I've heard...

Dubversion, gergl, Maggot and ianw are all excellent but xes played the most amazing set recently

Tendril as well. Although he loses a point for sometimes thinking he's Kool Herc at a circa 1977 Bronx block party. No peeking at those labels now...
:D ;)

You're just sore cause I wouldn't fess up the name of a track on one of my mixes and ya had to go search for it :p :p

My favourite Urban75 DJ is Maggot because he always plays stuff I like and I never knew I liked funk.

I've heard Hollis play once in Italy and it was brilliant. I’m a fan of Skim too.

I like xes and gergl's sets too as they play techno.

ianw gets a mention from me too because I heard him play AC/DC once.

Bluestreak and the editor aren't bad too as they play what the crowd wants to hear.

I'm much more impressed with a DJ that gets a crowd dancing rather than one who is technically good and plays obscure stuff.

No Mystery Guest option? How daaaar you!!!!!

He don't get knickers thrown at him for nothing you know. :)

Apart from the curly headed sage of the decks I also found myself grooving to Skim's set at Bar Lorca. :)

So where's the love for OU and his '80s mash ups then, people?

Or the man who makes it all happen...? He lays down some block rocking ditties as well y'know.

Is this a thread for newbies or what?

 ;) :D

pk

(one of the original urban dj's, along with 100%Sam, Hipipol, Bearfoot, Zeedoodles, MysteryGuest, and all the other vinyl flexers who know who they are and always will be)

My own choice... I like Orang Utan's style, and Wrongspeed, and (that girl I always forget her name but she has a nice smiley face at Offline), Rubbershoes, and of course DJ Placid (The Man With The Acid), plus Offline, and Jerome Hill, and Steve "He Brings Lights In" but I guess we're no longer Urbanites territory anymore, Toto...

;)

I aint heard anyone else play live except for Dub and I think the mans got skills. So I cant vouch for any others.

The only other urb I've heard play live is . . me !! :D

Quite a lot in fact. TBH Whenever I play Im always there. In 17 years I've never ever missed myself playing, no matter where it is.

Does that make me my own jockey slut :D

unlike the right honourable DJ Bumgravy, amazingly, i appear to have missed quite a few of my own sets. especially at Unsound..

"really enjoyed that set you did in the morning".

erm.. i did?
