oh yeah - i used to love deluxe paint on the amiga.

Deluxe Paint was great, but I warmed to Brilliance v2 more.

Personal Paint was the best, with Anim Brushes and HAM mode. 4,096 colours! Cutting edge!

The oldest pc painting package I came across was Drawmouse which had some quite good brushes in it including one that gave a pastel drawing effect.

Another program was Brush which ran from a floppy but worked better if you created a virtual ram disc before running it. This involved using DOS and the notorious Edlin mentioned above.

Anyone remember the Amiga DTP program Pagestream?

It reached v2.2 and was a reasonable offering but then they spectacularly bit off more than they could chew with v3 which claimed Quark-beating features and was the buggiest piece of software ever!
