Who here are "known activists"? (Britain faces summer of rage - police)

Never looted in my life. I'll bet you've "confiscated", though. Eh, officer?

I am very glad you've never looted alas the same cannot be said for all. As for confiscation all items are properly recorded as to SOP in place.

The difference is that the old bill don't put in windows then run down the street holding 24" plasma TV's, That's theft and burglary to you.

they just nick you with an ounce of coke that mysteriously becomes half ounce when you are charged

Gosh your such a wag, next thing you'll be protesting at being thrown down the stairs at the police station..kind of urban tales to up your street cred.

Reminds me of the time I had to listen to a smelly fucker complaining he got chucked down the stairs to the cells at Bethnal Green. I then pointed out there were no stairs or steps in the cells at that nick which put him on the back-foot somewhat in terms of his complaint.

Wish to God someone would think up something original for once...like being gang raped by the TSG in the back of a carrier ( or has that been done yet ) ?

'thrown down the stairs' is just a common euphemism dear. Bet you still have your Yellow Pages for them 'special' occasions eh?

More often bung some sugar in it and it becomes a half Kilo.

Sugar...don't you think we may come a bit unstuck as the law requires an independent home office approved laboratory analysis of weight and content of Class A substances before charge.

So sorry that's bollocks as well. You see your trotting out the same shite that is really old hat from 25 yrs ago.

Drugs get bagged ,weighed and examined and police cells have CCTV and very strict rules imposed by custody officers.

You must really set yourself a new task of writing a book on modern day police complaints.

Its' all going to got pear shaped according to the top police officer in charge of public order.

With the credit crisis, banking collapse and the fear of mass unemployment it is predicted that people who have never demonstrated before will come out onto the streets at G20 and other rally's.

Is it finally the time for mass popular protest or will it again be hijacked by the masked anarchist frothing mouth brigade and the accompanied looting that has for so long prevented ordinary people from joining these events.

lol - yeah , ordinary people NEVER loot during mass / confrontational protests ...

it's only ever 'the Anarchists ' , the 'Outside Agitators ' , 'Rentamob' etc etc

you're only kidding yourself with all this guff liberalpig , it doesn't stand up to even cursory examination , and you know it . Must be a confusing time for you tho. tbh

poor didumses, best bring your mummies along to kiss it better for you next time eh

just while we're on the subject of people telling porkies about how they got their injuries and all that.

That's probably a bit too full on for cops innit. They prefer it a bit more sleazy and sad.

what a lovely bunch of perverts and nonces. only the first couple of pages of the bbc news search returns as well. i reckon we could find hundreds of the buggers! and that's just the guilty. how many of your work mates have turned out to be nonces or rapists, pig?

Confiscation of mobile phones and camera's, and keeping them as 'evidence' for months/years though... legalised theft really isn't it?

also, here's some of the items nicked (sorry confiscated) by the police at last years climate camp...
glue, marker pens, board games, cushions, carpet, wood, paint, and scissors as well as bicycle locks which could have been used to lock protesters to fences. Police also seized anything that could have been used to set up camp, including spades and duct tape, generators and hammers and nails

in stirling I had 20 dust masks, pairs of work gloves and eye protectors confiscated off me that were needed for use by our site set up crew because athey were moving a lorry load of mdf sheeting that had mistakenly been laid as trackway, and subsequently broken up... mdf dust being an irritant, and H & S regulations requiring the use of dust masks and eye protection.... took the receipt I was given back to the station at the end of the thing to reclaim the stuff (to take it back and get a refund) and funnily enough, they couldn't find it...

essentially it's just using legalised theft as a method of harassing protestors, and damaging their ability to go about their lawful business of preparing to protest peacefully. As such it's absolutely no different to some protestors opting to damaging multinational's premises (and possibly twoc some of their stock*) to disrupt their business.

*I have never actually known this to happen, presumably PBP will be able to offer up some evidence of this in the form of newspaper reports of the trials of the protestors who've been caught doing this, or retract the claim?

Also, has anyone here ever tried to run with a telly before? It's not easy.
tbf, I (and some mates) have been known to leg it across the street carrying a full PA, decks, generator, tripod, table etc. before now, while playing a version of british bulldog with the police... but in my defence the kit did belong to us.

I guess it's possible this is the sort of thing that's got our friend here confused:hmm:

Lot easier with these flatscreen things - a 30" one weighs about as much as 4 or 5 bags of sugar.

Really? I'll have to give it a go this summer, my telly's getting a bit old. I picked it up around the time of the first Mayday protest...

I was able to carry a 40" TV when we moved without too many problems other than it's size - amazingly light!

I bet you didn't try lobbing it at a line of coppers one handed while carrying an open can of special brew in the other though did you?:hmm:

That's the equivalent of the caber toss in the anarchist version of the highland games (AKA summer of rage), and afaik is only possible after years of specialist training;)

Would the consumption of a few cans of brew be classified as performance enhancing drugs?

Christ even the Daily Mail readers are ready to take the streets. :D The comments section is fairly comical:

It's not just the 'activists' you need to worry about Mr Hartshorn. I know a lot of ordinary, non-activist, people who are furious at the way our supposed 'elites' seem to thing that society should be organised for their benefit and that we should pay to keep their snouts in the trough. We'll be seeing you from the other side of the barricades in the summer.

Wonders if they are same as the Category C lads who are always banned and called "Englands Shame" whenever England get to an international final.
