Who do you vote for in 2015 General Election?

In the General? Probably Labour. Though if CW stand then they'll get my vote and a few hours of my time.

However, given my hatred of the Labour Party there's a good chance I won't be able to bring myself to do it. In which case spoiling is likely unless TUSC or LU or someone can convince me otherwise.

or more likely a write in vote for PD or CW.

if it was america both of the hopefuls would have already done their vote-winning speeches on World Wrestling Extreme'

who can forget the dignity and aplomb with which Mr Obama dropped the line 'Can you smell what Barrack is cooking?'

followed by McAins slightly weaker 'Can you feel what the mac is bringing'

I'm looking forward to seeing how shrilly the media push "you have a duty to use your vote" this time around. I suspect it'll be a fair bit shriller than last time, as the parties struggle to replace the veneer of democracy their politics had, and which their actions post-"credit crunch" have caused to peel off.

you can already imagine the labour hacks banging the 'nevar forget 1992!' drum.

Nick Clegg Easter eggs: Labour treat is ''completely hollow, melts under pressure and leaves bad taste in mouth''

Not often if fact maybe never before has the adage 'we get the politicians we deserve' been truer. It seems to me that people are either apathetic and more concerned with acquisition and the property ladder or feel so disenfranchised as to not be bothered to vote by the various placemen and parasites who really only have an eye on the boardroom position or consultancy that they see their Westminster connections bringing to them.

Zurich Insurance, Tony Blair and his £500k pa. Security guards at £250k funded by taxpayers. That is before you even look deeply at his other income and his ongoing burden on the taxpayer.

None of these people really have anything in common with the majority of voters.

I'm not sure they'll bother. They don't seem to give a fuck.

Mine was a 3-way marginal between Labour (who already had the seat although the previous MP stood down) Lib Dems and Tories last time round. I voted for the Labour candidate (and he got in) but I won't vote for him again because he voted for the welfare cap, the cunt. I'll not vote at all tbh if we get a Yes vote in the referendum. If we get a No I'll probably still not vote although if the SSP or someone of similar principles stands I'll vote for them.

thing is if you ask people on here they have a thoughtful reason to the choice, cos we are all a bit like that. You ask most people they just go 'not bothering, whats the point' or tory/lab like what my dad did
Its why electoral politics has become my football. You can't change shit or do shit but watching it from a sport perspective makes it interesting.

I'm in a Liberal / Conservative constituency and I always voted Liberal to ensure the Tories wouldn't get in, and although I haven't been very impressed by this government, I now prefer them to LibDems.

I'm concerned about the European Union and that we have signed up to something that seems to be getting bigger and looming ever closer and its economic plan that has already bankrupt several countries, but I don't like the way the debate has been allowed to be hijacked by racists and nationalists. None of UKIPs other policies appeal to me either, but as has been shown time and time again, you don't always need policies for some people to vote for you. My take on it is that a European superstate would not necessarily make the UK or Britain any safer, as non-european world powers aren't going to sit by without playing realpolitik, resulting in volatile situations like in the Ukraine.

So I will be voting Conservative as I don't like the others rhetoric on a referendum.

It's because I believe in fairness, and always saw the Conservatives as being mean, classist, and for the financial elite. The EU issue has been the biggest turning factor for a lot of tories, so a vote for conservative is a vote against UKIP.

I would say that I am still to the left on some issues such as protectionism for manufacturing and reigning in the financial industry. I'm not sure why Labour don't campaign more on these issues.

You're a very confused young man

I voted for John Battle when this was his seat, he had some principles (not afraid to vote against the party on stuff like Iraq) and worked hard on a couple of local issues. On his retirement we had Rachel Reeves parachuted in here, despite having a good local councillor who would have been a better MP for constituents. Didn't support her last time on principle, this time it's her words, playing along with the Tory press on being tough on whoever this week's demons are. Will have to see what other options there are here.

im in the same constituency - and have the same issues with rachel reeves.

Traditionally would've voted Labour but this pretty much killed any faith I had in Miliband.

fuck me the guy's an automatum.

asked 3 different questions in a row, he just parrots the exact same words in response, each time starting with 'these strikes are wrong at a time when negotiations are still going on'.

By that logic nobody would ever strike because the management would just continue negotiating / sitting round a table eating biscuits / setting dates for the next round of negotiations until the workers had retired.

eta - actually I was wrong, that's actually 6 times he repeats the exact same words in the interview, he basically doesn't say anything differently at all in answer to any of the questions.

I'm really not sure I could vote for someone who's that incapable of deviating even slightly from their pre-agreed script. He's the leader ffs who's party line is he actually towing in that interview / who wrote and agreed that script for him to parrot to camera?

I will be spoiling my vote unless an independent republican runs who I happen to agree with but I will definitely not be voting for the shower of bastards who run this country that's for sure.

Right. It's just robotic PR answers - he can't even think for himself. Even his jokes at PMQs are so badly written in advance there's no sense of natural wit or snark. Blair used to eat Major alive at PMQs, Miliband doesn't even come close. He just gets some some labour spinman with a lame funny to ensure he gets into the 'best bits' segments of the news. What was it last week? "Not so much the wolf of wall street, more the dunce of downing street" ahhaahaha.

He's a total fuckwit.

Is there a Republican party I can vote for?

"The Green Party of England and Wales, which has one MP in the House of Commons, has an official policy of republicanism.[54] The Irish republican party Sinn Féin has five MPs, but they do not take their seats.[55] The Scottish Green Party, which has two MSPs in the Scottish Parliament, supports having an elected Head of State in an Independent Scotland"

If you vote Tory this is what you will get.
Tory leader in waiting is as bad as UKIP

He's got his entire party doing the same thing as well, or his media strategists have at any rate. The man's a fucking cretin, and the thought of him being prime minister is pretty alarming tbh.
