Who do you think you aaaaaggggghhhhh

Hey that's me!

I looked up my surname (from London, quite distinctive) years ago and found a few addresses on the Mile End Road.

First one I went to was a pub! Result! Except that when I went in they were all NF. So I finished my Strawberry Daiquiri and left without introducing myself into any circles.

Water is thicker than blood.

:D

Jerry Springer's one was pretty interesting.

well i think it was this show.

Yes it was, that was a good one. I also liked the one with Robert Lindsay (he is from the same town in Derbyshire as me) and Lesley Garratt.

ah i like Robert Lindsay, was it interesting?

Yes, apparently he made a deliberate effort to lose his accent when he went to RADA, but he regrets it now.

I find most of them interesting, although if it's someone I dislike, it puts me off watching.

What a load of shit this programme is.

Dull celebrity talks about dull ancestors.

Celebrities will say stuff like 'wow' when finding out that their great grandma worked in a biscuit factory.

Absolute shit and an insult to those foolish enough to pay the fascist tv licence.

I don't think the programme is a load of shit
And as for dull ancestors. Are yours any more interesting?
Or do you mean they are dull because they are often ordinary folk?
These are the nameless often forgoten people who put the muscle and backbone into history whilst the Lords and Ladies took all the credit.

Same here, Stephen Fry's one was brilliant mainly cos it was Mr. Fry, i cried when he cried after finding out a bit of his family were taken by the Nazi's.
:(

I always cry when they find out their families were in the work house and stuff. I do enjoy it though:)

It' s an excellent set of programmes, all with some interest. Admittedly if I don't like the person I tend not to watch the show.

The Lenny Henry one was interesting, slavery being the main theme. He got really upset, rightly, with the thought of his ancestors working and dying in the fields and with no markers for the graves. This was doubly brought on when seeing a plaque to the death of the plantantation owner.

Later in the show he finds out that he is also blood related to the plantation owner, lots of puzzled looks and questions, great TV.

The TV license people all dress in black and harangue you with racist diatribes do they?
