Who do you support?

WHY?!?!
Guaranteeing the long term survival of your club.
How precisely does it do that?

Just because the press releases say it's a great thing doesn't mean it is. I think giving the club a union name at the insistence of a union club and having them play in a union club's colours tends to make league look like an afterthought, some sort of minor offshoot of union, rather than the code of choice.

Why no quarters?

That's our 1970-71 team. From 1962 - 1973 we wore first blue and white stripes, then all blue shirts. Originally it was because the quartered shirts were more expensive to make I believe and after relegation to the third division in 1961 we had to make economies.

The quarters returned in 1973-74 with the Rovers storming to promotion on the back of a 23 match unbeaten run from the start of the season and an avalanche of goals from Alan Warboys and Bruce Bannister - Smash and Grab. This was the season we won 8-2 at the Goldstone with little Nigel watching from the dugout alongside his dad Brian.

Funnily enough, our away kit that season was red and white stripes and we only wore Brighton's yellow away kit that day because it was on the telly and they didn't want a clash of kits for black and white viewers.

So there you go :)
