I'm not a great clubber and haven't heard of most of the options so I vote for Unsound at the arches.

Standing outside in the middle of a hurricane munted up to the eyeballs was great fun :D

Shame the wind brought the power lines down on the ECML so I couldn't get home

boi it's a small world innit. that's where I first heard LFO drop - I was up on the stage at the time and really going for it, then the bass dropped and I was like OMFG what is this!!!!!! - one of those unforgettable moments you... er... never forget innit! haha!

the Monday after I was straight down to Crash! to see if it had been released already (it hadn't :( ).

So many happy memories of that place.

I was a regular at Crash too. Remember Ital's Theme? Another Warehouse classic with monster bass.

omg yes of course, I still have those Bassic releases on CDR. Looking back, I think all those Leeds/Sheffield tunes were a turning point for me, where UK music suddenly became far more important than music from overseas - something which has remained with me until today.

Trade at Turnmills 1990-93. Started at 3am and finished at lunchtime.

yay for Trade.:) I was a Trade baby as well. It was a great club but for me, Troll was better.

Complete madness at the Soundshaft behind Heaven. we'd always go through into Heaven during the night to get a cup of tea from the lovely patricia at the Heaven snack bar. I think i had to ask her name every single week for about 8 months before i remembered it :o

Club dog at The George Robey
Megadog at the Rocket or Brixton Academy
Girl-y-whig at Shoreditch Town Hall
Pendragon & various other nights @ Tyssen St.

Tyssen Street was probably my favourite venue coz it had they squat party feel to it & it was huge.

what ever happened to mrs woods???

and did anyone ever venture into ff....i never did it was too scary :D

For me it's a tossup between Mr Digbys in Birkenhead and Erics in Liverpool.

Erics had the better bands, but Mr Digbys was the ultimate practical martial arts challenge and had some pretty decent bands to provide a soundtrack to the carnage.

Anyone remember One Louder? Had some good nights there in about '95 with the Liberators. Think it was in some arch near Tower Bridge or summat.

that was my best mates club, it was in the 414 and then moved to happy jax from what I recall, wicked party but then I would say that

I loved the sexyfesty parties but didn't like the rocket so much when they had them there, tyssen street I liked as a venue and didn't really bother me what night was on as long as it wasn't pendragon

i used to go to ff . despite the name it was quite chilled.the sunday nightness made it less manic than trade but it was best not to wander under the alcoves

I am gonna post my 1983(ish) jazz funk clubbing video onto mytube tommorow..show u peeps what the begining of raving was all about ;)

Sanctuary @ Grays - great way to spend a Saturday day...

Sunnyside Up @ SW1 - great way to spend a Sunday day...

414 Brixton - great way to spend a Sunday night  :D

Edgy, but good. I had some great times at these parties despite some nastiness.

Restless Natives were slightly different weren't they? I went to a small free party which was just them once, and the atmosphere was great, more like samsara or something.

Club Dog (Robey)
Megatripolis (Heaven - we even ended up buying one of those pulsey headphone, flashing lights over the eyes things that you used to be able to pay to use there)
Whirlygig (Leicester Square at the start)
Some place in the arse end of Cardiff that eventually got shut down for being well dodgy but was excellent (nearish to the coach station IIRC - spent LOADSA time there)

ETA: oh and spent many a Sat night at the Funky Munky in Loughbourough Junction in the early 2000s.... absolutely no surprise it got shut down - but loadsa fun!

ooh.. and that place up in Old Street that kept flooding... had a sort of roof garden - can't remember the name of that either! Got shut down too I think.
