From the list in the poll, I would have to choose Unsound at the arches, Elephant & Castle. Top parties they were.

I loved the 'ull pronunciation of that place - summink like 'Ell Errrrhs' :D

It still is. Or was, anyway. It closed down last year.

it was a truly dire club, but for some reason I miss it, maybe 'cos it's part of my history, getting leathered at student night there when i was 17...

was never really into clubbing - we preffered to dance around outside wiv our radios :D

did like lakota in bristol when i went once, though...

hated awol, and world dance  left early both times

from the poll i say unsound in the arches. top vibe - think i went to one of their parties in some place in smithfields too  that was good.

Rage, (Heaven in Charing X), on a Thursday and 414 immediately after. Fabio Groove Rider and the best acid/banging techno that London had to offer

Rocket's there, and Labyrinth used to happen at Amhurst road like Funtasy no?

no (unless in the very early days?)

Club Labyrinth was at 4aces in Dalston for years. i used to go in 1992/93

the promoters started doing parties in 1988 - every picture tells a story, 2000AD etc.

Que Club in Brum - anytime between 91 and 94 :D

Woo!

We used to trek up from Berkshire to go to the Que loads!

Would have been from '94 to about 97 I think.

Used to go to the Arches a lot too as well - fuck knows what the night was though, I was always munted.

Club UK vote for me.
It was a sweatbox and the water situation was crap but saw some great DJs there and cemented my love for all things Mills there.

Lost nights were amazing and seemed to bridge the gap between club and free party. The recent ones have not hit the spot at all though :(

Ark - Southend
Deep Space -
Ocers Clation, on the pier :D Had the ambent room in sea life center
Final Frontier at Club UK was ok till turned into coke city. Nose rubbing cunt. look I made him look over there:rolleyes:

Megadog/Club Dog definitely high up there, Eurobeat2000, Sterns in Worthing (!), Knowledge at the SW1 on a Wednesday (hardcore techno!), The Brain in Wardour Street - I practically lived there for a while, plus of course all the dodgy warehouse raves in East London in the late 80's...

Oh the humanity!

Naturally I voted for the Hedgeparties though.

:)

I came to it all very late and have little to compare it to but my arrival in London was confused by various demonic nights at the Drome and Tyssen Street. Jaysus, the stuff that went around there. Had to be carried out on more than one occasion, but no-one seemed to mind.

Final Frontier @ Club UK has the best memories for me... it's also where I met my wife back in 1994.....she had some Ribena and I had an ice pop - the rest is history :)

The Drome was the sprawling place that became SEOne wasn't it. Grimey and a bit grubby, but usually fun enough

I've still a huge soft spot for Soul II Soul's nights at the Africa Centre and The Fridge - definitely felt like the source of something new and exciting. Same applies to the Boys Own M25 Orbitals, and Metalheadz at the Blue Note and Dingwalls

Loved the Drive By nights in Bath and then Bristol as well. Even the footie club in Aberystwyth holds special memories for me. It's all about the people rather than the clubs themselves.

Unsound was fucking great at the Arches too mind

Anyone remember One Louder? Had some good nights there in about '95 with the Liberators. Think it was in some arch near Tower Bridge or summat.

I went to labyrinth once in trainers and a short black dress with go faster stripes down the side, bouncing around to jungle *sighs* thoses were the days :D

The Goldmine Canvey circa 1978/9 - Chris Hill 2nd term , Friday nights . I had just come out of the otherside of a 2 year Punk frenzy and found Funk and Soul . There were coaches coming down from all over the country it had such a reputation for great music.

fuck yes, the labyrinth :$

and dougies, clapton

and the dungeons lea bridge road

and clink st

and sterns

and that place in maidenhead...??

Studio Valbonds (?)

Totally forgot about Sterns ;)

Megadogs at Brixton Academy - I had some of the best nights of my life stumbling around there tripping my face off. I can't even imagine taking a microdot at any club I've been to for years.

I also spent many a mad night in Final Frontier at Club UK during my honeymoon period with techno.

As for out of London clubs - The Arches in Sheffield was an amazing club in the mid 90s. Especially when Smokescreen put on nights there.

<goes all misty eyed>

Went to a few nights there 1999-2001 but it was so unreliable, would turn up on a night coming up and find that the night was cancelled  before heading back into town and going to Area 51 followed by Insomniacz :D

Bagleys for Slammin Vinyl nights in 98/99

Sanctuary and Rollers as well surely...
