Which version of 'Mad World' do you prefer?

Alex Parkes does it quite well as it goes... and Gary Jules did a whole new ethereal take on it.

But Orzabal and Smith wrote it as part of their Hurting sessions, which really were groundbreaking and still sound fresh today. Tears For Fears were and still are a superb band.

On what planet were Tears For Fears ever filed under New Romantic ??

New Romantic was all about the Blitz Kids, Steve Strange, Phil Salon, etc. which predated Tears For Fears by some years.

Tears for Fears all the way. Though I do like Gary Jules cover, piss easy to play on the piano too. Learn that and Clocks and you can impress any numpty.
I also like Head Over Heels from the school montage scene near the beginning. Yay Tears for Fears! *goes listen to depeche mode though*
