Which Program Do You Most Love Using?

Oh, I forgot Things. If only it was scriptable, it would be perfect.

Also I do enjoy using Circus Ponies Notebook even if it has no circus ponies in it. I used to enjoy using Yojimbo but unfortunately it became (a) too slow with lots of tags and (b) too annoying to manage project information in.

It's important to like your basic note-taking and project tools; if you hate them, you're not going to be very efficient and you'll just get confused about what you're meant to be doing and why.
There's some lovely looking programs on Mac OS. I'm still stuck in the dark ages with my hugely flexible but beastly looking Palm/XP Note Studio.

Oh, and I love using Directory Opus. Fabulously powerful and configurable file manager/FTP/image viewer etc etc etc.

Flexible and more importantly reliable counts for a lot. I've gone right off Things now after the latest update to the iPhone client messed up the sync. I've got zero tolerance for that sort of thing these days.

I might look at Omnifocus, that's supposed to be the daddy of these things, but it's bloody pricey and doesn't look much fun.

They've just released 1.3.2 that's supposed to have fixed a lot of the syncing issues; I've never had any (so far) then again, I've only just started using Things so probably don't have even a small proportion of the to-dos and projects that I imagine you have on there FM!

No, it was that which caused it, everything was working okay up until then!

Things is a lovely program, but the lack of nested items was starting to hack me off, and no Applescript either, and my trial was running out, so I think I'm going back to Taskpaper for the moment.

Boxee - My new favorite at home. Excellent media center software with a slick interface and automatic cataloging of all my movies and TV shows.

According to Wiki,

A Microsoft Windows Alpha version of Boxee was released in January 2009, but is currently available only by private invitation.

Would you be able to facilitate such an invite!

Agreed. love it very much, it's one of those programs that you find something about it that surprises you, then you wonder why it wasn't done like this before. Also love the fact that it was on Mac and Linux and porting to windows seems to have been a bit of an afterthought.

This and MythTV for watching TV on the laptop is my media centre sorted!

I have just paid for a licence for Things - and while in the US it's $50, here it's
Sub Total 35.59 GBP
VAT @ 15% 5.34 GBP
Shipping 0.00 GBP
Grand Total: 40.93 GBP
fuckers

anyway, it was on the basis that I love using that program, and also the only equivalent product was Omnifocus which is $80 + $20 for the iPhoneTouch client. That's forty-one quid of fucking love you bastards. Counts against tax mind.

There was voucher that still works I think but uh, I guess you don't want to know that now, doh! However the saving was then largely added on by VAT which isn't displayed with the original price, caused a small amount of disgruntlement on the support forums but hey, the developers seem to be working hard. Do you think it's expensive for what it is FM?

If it's the voucher from the beta test program, that's expired, or should have anyway, though I didn't actually check.

I do think it's pretty expensive for what it is, yeah. I like using it as I said, and it's very important to have a task manager that you feel comfortable with and trust, but it's still rather in early stages - no Applescript, no subprojects etc - even if they are adding bits fairly quickly it seems. I wonder if I will end up regretting it and wishing I'd got Omnifocus instead. Oh well.
