Which live versions are better than the recorded ones?

I once had a fantastic live MP3 of The Cure's "Disintegration" which was mind-blowingly good. I'm now slsk-ing it.

stuff on Thin Lizzy's Live & Dangerous, although how much is actually "live" is debatable.

Most of the stuff on Van Morrison's Too Late To Stop Now is better than the album versions..

There was a live album of the whole of disintegration, minus the singles.
I've got it somewhere though I can't remember the name of it. It's not quite as huge as Disintegration tho'. pity. The Cure generally are good for a better live version of things - depending on Bob's mood I think

the live versions of The Billiard Player Song and The End of Radio by Shellac are much better than the recorded ones because Albini riffs a lot more on the stories or images involved... Especially, with EOR, the Peel Session they recorded just after Peel died.

Most 'live' recordings are heavily embellished, re-produced and remastered with all kinds of stuff added on.

Probably the modern 'live' song is much more similar to the way studio recordings were done 40-50 years ago.
