Which film should I watch?

She's not in Ghost World and thank god for that. The slightly less cute, but considerably more talented Thora Birch is the lead.

Have you seen the Nick Broomfield documentary about the real case? All that eye rolling and talking through teeth is EXACTLY how the real Aileen Wournos talks and acts.

A tale of two sisters was ok once but not great on a repeat viewing

Bright young things is ok but not amazing

The corporation is good but scary and too long

Phone booth is short and sweet, good film.

Pom Poko is always fun

Porco Rosso is my least favorate ghibli but Mrs Suplex loves it.

Laputa is goodish but again the Wife can't get enough of it.

Glad you enjoyed it - but have you actually seen any footage of Aileen Wuornos? Theron got it spot on, spookily so.

That's true. I generally hate this kind of stunt casting, but Theron caught every bug eyed crazy nuance of the woman.
 
I take it all back then. I still love my Christina more though. The Block Party is on now and it is rather enchanting. Never encountered Dave Chapelle before but he's a charming and genial chap and Michel Gondry is just the fella to capture it. The music ain't bad either.

I just thought the film was a bit , pointless and pretentious and DULL!

i believe you're wrong about it being dull, and also about it being pointless (although I'd be interested in your opinion of what being pointless actually entails when it comes to film). But pretentious? No, you're entirely wrong.

Can you back it up with any specific examples?
 
No, because I can't remeber it that well. I just remeber thinking "what a shitty, dull and pretentious script" then falling asleep.

Anyway films are very much subjective, so what is pretense for someone else might be "really deep maaaaan" for another person.
 
emule is really living up to it's namesake...Ghost World is going to take about 1 day more and 9 hours to fecking download so i havent seen it yet. :(

'National Lampoons Pledge This' or something and Little Miss Sunshine is complete and yet to be viewed.

Come on Ghost World!
