Yes - I've heard the story before. There is I think a Radio Scotland prog on them.

That link brings-up another point of prog - the label. Some folk seem to assign varying percentages of proggieness by who they were signed to & other things.

eg - I remember when Pallas signed to EMI - Their next goal was to get Roger Dean on board for the album cover & they succeeded. :eek:
 
True enough, although that does seem to be overlooked by many today.

Most of my Wire listening goes back to before their first hiatus (mid 80s?), then the Gilbert & Lewis stuff - Remember the first reincarnation but was surprised to see somewhere the other week that they are active again! :eek: :)
 
I'd say the question is a bit of an oxymoron..."good" prog?

But if the question is which country is best at producing prog, then, yes, Britain, especially the private school system.
