also if the warewolf can't be infected then the zombies lose most of their power as the warewolf can only be killed by silver or wolfsbane if i rember corectly

the "full moon" thing seems to be a hollywood misunderstanding - there are loads of legends of werewolves who shifted on random nights, and sometimes even during the day. a lot of the time they seem to have been in control of their changes as well.
According to Montague Summers, werewolves are regenerative as well, so I'd guess they would probably be immune to zombification.

the main problem is the monstor changes it powers depending on who you ask ... the worst ofender for this is probably vampiers ...

I put other meaning dragons, but then realised you meant horror films only.

imo this poll should have left out witches (cos they're not monsters, just humans who can do magic), ghosts and poltergeists (cos imo "monsters" means solid/tangible kind of creatures) and replaced them with options for robots/cyborgs, kaiju (sp?) (japanese style giant godzilla type monsters) and mythological type beasties (hydra, minotaur, gorgons, etc)...
but maybe that's just because i grew up with old school dr who, badly dubbed godzilla and ray harryhausen movies...
of the given options it's probably either vampires or aliens, cos (imo) they've had the most imaginative and varied portrayals. tho zombies and werewolves are also pretty cool...

A lot of the vampire slagging on this thread seems to stem from the fact that they are associated with goths, who don't seem the most popular type of people at the moment (dunno why, a lot of them are perfectly nice people).
Shippou's absolutely right that any kind of "monster vs monster" arguments basically fall down cuz generally speaking most monsters are fictional, and hence can be whatever you make of them - eg zombies of Haitian folklore are basically harmless, if extremely creepy, nothing like the guts ripping cannibal psychos of modern horror films.

Has to be aliens, or more specifically Alien aliens. They were designed to be nothing but ruthless and efficient killing machines, and I don't think there's another monster on that there poll that would be able to stand a chance against them. Yeah, werewolves and vampires can be made technically invulnerable if you play hard and fast with the rules, but eventually aliens would figure out how to kill them.
