Where would you like to live?

I love living in New Zealand. I miss my family heaps but can never return to UK now. My family have just been over here on holiday and the stories I hear about life back home just proves to me that we made the right decision.

Yes it rains but being English I'm used to that, here at least I know the summer will bring more sun than rain. Food is excellent, lovely wine, superb beaches, one just a minute walk from my house, mostly great people, I could go on and on...

so far the only places i have been to that i know i could happily live are london, brighton, seattle and new york, though given reports i suspect that san fran, berlin, and paris all have their appeal.

Stop it! Being stuck on the outskirts of Cov is bad enough...

You planning to get back over to thailand any time soon mate? Or have you re-emigrated back to england?

As for no beaches in chiang mai, there are now direct flights to both phuket and samui, so money aside, i can be on the white sands in pretty quick time these days...

As well as places in NY, LA, SF and London, I'd like pads in Paris, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

I'd move to Amsterdam tomorrow, if I could.

Place in Paris for me too please!!! <insert in lurve with the place smilie>

I would too butterfly....well, Rotterdam possibly. :)

Heh... New York City, San Francisco, and London for me too, please. :)

Beyond that, I'd love to live in Indonesia for a while, it's a fascinating country with its mix of islands and cultures. Ditto for Thailand.

I'm going to let my hair go grey, wear black and feed the cats on some lovely Greek island when I'm a bit older.

Id like to live with fela fan.

With a pair of earplugs for when he starts philosophising

" Yes, fela...< nods > yes..."

There's very little time for philosophising here sid. There's too much living to be done in chiang mai...

I'd like to live in Hilo, Hawaii....I went there last year, it's a lovely quirky hippy town on the Big Island of Hawaii, full of artists and drop-outs...so friendly.

Or failing that, the North Shore of Oahu....or Honolulu....fell in love with that place *sigh*...the pacific islands rock...

ive heard nothing but good things about the phillipines. Id like to live in Beijing now. Singapore could be quite practical.

I think i am the only one who votes for england, but only if it were in the Lake Distict, and only if i was rich, which is doubtful. I would love to live near Glenridding or Buttermere, but would hate to live near Windermere though (all those tourists). Apart from that, East Germany, if i could speak the language, or Toronto. Went there a few years back and loved it - lovely people, lovely counrtyside (outside Toronto that is) and the green is.....far better than it is here!

I found Hawaii a boring tourist haunt with nice beaches. The food was the worst greasy american crap and all the shops were rubbish.

I did have fun there and I was visitsing friends as well as doing all the regular tourist stuff in hotels but I wouldn't want to live there and neither did anyone else I met who did live there.

I would want to live in a village far away from everthing in the UK or Japan. However I also like city life so maybe something in chiba like the outskirts of shimosanakayama with it's lovely temple (more fun than meji jingu) just out of Tokyo.

You've obviously only been to the touristy bits then......

Hawaii is mainly rural, the small towns are really old fashioned, no tourists, completely unspoilt........
