Where to meet half way between Oz and UK?

Meeting up with Jodal halfway between UK and Australia in May next year. The obvious choices are Thailand and Malaysia I guess.

Where do people recommend? Maybe half beach holiday, half sight seeing. Places to get pissed and indulge in a spot of hedonism would be a big plus.

If you have never been to Thailand, give it a go. There are some nice secluded beaches and also a few things to see. Not a great deal, but enough for a bit. Bangkok is worth a few days. I've spent ages there.

I like the sounds of Hawaii although I bet thats expensive.

I've been to bangkok recently so would prefer to miss that out if I'm honest. Doesn't mean Thailands out however, I could just fly straight to Chiang Mai or Phuket.

I know the gf really wants to do New Zealand as well so I guess that's an option.

Also like Langkarwi or Perinthians in malaysia.

Yeah, it's likely to be Thailand... but for some reason I see Thailand as a bit obvious.. I'm sure I'll get over it.

Shes using the tincan extension that the rest of the world felt it didn't need any more and happened to stretch to Oz.

Yeah, mate of mine spent 15k on a 2 weeker in the Maldives, said it was amazing.

Personally 'amazing' would be the barest minimum....
