I think alot of the valleys is like that.
We look after the garage at the bottom of the hill, they look after us.I paid them in beer to loosen my bonnet catch( renault garage would have cost me ££)

Recently MrFit broke down in the M5.. transported back on a lorry etc, rescue guy said OOH god long job, big bill , possible write offetc. The garage said they would 'have a look' we returned 3 hours later to a completely foxed car and he says "Giz it when you got it- £80 ok??"

aw that sounds nice, i really wish i could find a good garage.

my only purpose for going to merthyr was drug orientated so i only experienced the underworld side, so i was possibly a tad hasty in saying its a shit hole coz i have never experienced it as a normal citizen.

I love the Merthyr attitude, two very large ladies in my work from Merfyr and they're fucking hilarious, like a comedy double act of cynicism and idleness.

At a meeting the other day one was commenting about a potential job going and she came out with "Ooh, Christ, I wouldn't want that if it was dipped in diamonds" with a look like a trout sucking a lemon, the whole room cracked up.

They are putting in a passing loop at Troedyrhiw and resignalling Abercynon this allows a 30 min service to Merthyr. The station has been rebuilt - last time I was there in the late 70s it was a bit rundown - seems to be much improved.

Nows the time to buy .....

which i'd bought when i was in troedyrhiw. some friends bought houses for a few grand and just lived in one room for ages while they did them up. must be worth a packet now.

Yeah like it's so different from any other town in the Valleys. Pile of scruffy fuckers in Ponty, Aberdare, Ebbw Vale, Llanedeyrn, Tremorfa, anywhere you care to name, Merthyr is no different.

In fact Merthyr has given more to the fashion world with people like Julien McDonald, Chris Sullivan and Laura Ashley than probably any other place in Wales

Llanedeyrns not in the Valleys its a satellite estate of Cardiff-so is Tremorfa-not all scruffy fuckers at all.

Apparantly Jon Bryant is leaving Sale Sharks to become player-coach at Merthyr RFC next season. They seem to be keen to get into the Welsh Prem.

He lives in Barry tho!
