Where shall I eat tonight?

yeah she did.

some friends of mine really rated it as well.

i saw the Prince Regent is down in the ES Restaraunts of the year as well.
is the food that good does anyone know? not been in.

It is good but a bit pricey.

I did a runner :o

Generally the Prince Regent is pretty good. The only quarrel I have is that sometimes (especially their Monday £10 for two courses) it's a good deal, other times it feels a bit pricey for what it is. But overall I'd say it's good.

However I'd put Pullens (slightly more expensive) higher up if you're in that neck of the woods.

Or Khans. Or Lombok. Both pretty cheap and good. :)

I think The Prince Regent is better than Pullens. Not a huge fan of Lombok.

I went to Pullens the other day for the first time and found it rather dismal and seedy looking. I think I just had some soup, which was very nice, but I was unimpressed by the accompanying bread. I mean I like Allinson's multigrain but I don't expect to get it in a restaurant.

So where did you go???!

Read last night that Negril has pretty poor food hygiene standards, will dig out the link.

Well, went to Negril, had real nometary value and had no problem whatsoever with the food hygiene standards!

The guy served me up some chicken which was raw in the middle the other day. His eye's off the ball; I won't eat there again.

Negril tastes great... bah to food hygiene, you walk through their kitchen to get to the loo and it looks fine. At least as clean as your mate's flat, and mine, and mine's pretty clean. My only gripe is the price hike that happened between 2006 & early 2007 - up from about £4.50 for half chicken and a side to more like £8, i.e. the typical price for a main course in London in a nice but non-swanky place. Of which there are many, so Negril's in no way any longer cheap. I may have posted about this before, but it's because it upsets me - their jerk chicken and sauce is the best I've tasted and it'd be nice to not have to actually save up to go there.

Brazas now does even more veggie options than before including a well-nice veggie burger and a really really good halloumi and other yummy stuff salad. They will always put together something for you if you want to "tweak" some of their recipes and they've got really good ingredients in there. Their cakes are incredible as well!
