Where is the best view in London?

Meltingpot

Living in our pools we soon forget about the sea
Prompted by the picnic thread; from where in your opinion is the best scenic view in London? A book I had in the 80's, by David Benedictus, claimed it was from the Roebuck pub in Twickenham.

Alexander Palace hill is alright, too.

You can see all the way to crystal Palace from there. :D

I always get a little frisson of excitement cycling over Waterloo Bridge at night....

(although that maybe something to do with potholes, cycling and my saddle? )

I do too, and I'm not on a bike

The Roof Gardens @ The Jam Factory in London Bridge give you a pretty fuckin good view (as does my kitchen balcony  )

From the Royal Observatory, Greenwich Park. Or Waterloo Bridge, late at night. From the back of a black cab. Slightly wasted.
