Other than My NuLeng I'd rather go to the dentist - at least that would have a bit of mentasm.

even the US is over that stuff now, have no idea how the promoters made that work in the UK, 2015....sounds like they had to abandon the sunday, and not bother trying again, but you think we're all somehow bitter haters for not appreciating Steve feckin Angello + co ?

following the UK model a bit more , ie : more housey ( not as straight retro as UK went tho )

eg : this doing it over there, as well as UK / RoW : (28m plays  )

loads of 'Anjuna Deep' : sausagey deep house with prog undertones

still loads of crappy EDM about over there though, but it's moving

"Top of their game" Pretty funny.

To be fair there's plenty of money floating around in the "underground" if that's what it comes down to.

Back to the main topic, I'm interested in what nights the OP is going to. I've got mates in their mid 40's and other than the odd night they've never really felt to old. (The odd night aside.)

I'd recommend the Don't nights in London as one to look at. :)

I was actually about to type out a reasonably considered reply to this, based around the various industry performers, promoters, producers and professionals that post here, the dozens of people who have decades of experience in these areas, or simply the hundreds of posters who have been supporting various scenes here for more years than most would care to remember.

But I’ll just go with “fuck off gromit” instead.

Actually I find the American model the worst. They tend to favour the blandest of the bland of house music. I don’t hate it. It suits some people but I personally wouldn’t cross the street for it. Yaaawn.

Or they do stuff like Skrillex. The angry teenage kid EDM equiv of thrash metal and then have the cheek to call it Dubstep when it’s not even the correct beats per minute.

Armin Van Buuren has been big there for years. Pants.
Chainsmokers are huge there now. Double pants.
    No thanks USA.

FairPlay to the Chainsmokers and Armin. They give their audience exactly what they want and are good at it. Just not my tastes. Certainly not my worst nightmare like pesh above.
I’ve stood through an entire Armin set and sorta had a good time upto the point where he explained what trance was to the audience by asking them to close their eyes and then playing a track that wasn’t trance.

30 years of raving is Johnny come lately?

Paris Hilton is popular. Do you think I rate her?

Paul Oakenfold is not popular anymore but is still bloody good.
Deadmau5 was awesome before he became popular and is less good than he once was but still beats the shit out of most.
The RatPack are consistently good but only manage smaller festivals.

Cream rises to the top but also the occasional turd.

    Any really successful ones?

By successful I mean more than just make a good living.

I'm confused what you mean when you say being at the top. How is being at the "top" an indication of anything? It's a bit weird, and your idea of success.

Music isn't just about making shit tons of money. I'd say making a good living doing anything is a success.

I love the way this site contradicts itself.
    It fawns over David Bowie.
Net worth when he died $230 million.
He was popular and made money. Nah he must of been crap.

So, just to check, we all hate successful artists. Apart from the ones we like. Yes?
