Where do I start with Low?

Just got 'Things we lost in the fire'.

Its awful. Utter shit. I've heard better records by Starsailor. Now I've nothing against downbeat music but why anyone would inflict such samey, completely tuneless dreck on themselves beggars belief

Shame on everyone on this thread proclaiming the virtues of these hacks.

my current one i listen to most is the mini album they did with the Dirty Three. it has a greta cover of Neil Young's Down By The River.

Just wanted to point out that the full long version of this is on the Neil Young tribute Cd free with Uncut this month.

Do you actually like music?

Very much, particularly music with stuff like melodies in. Not so much music which sounds like valium and could only ever be hummed by an inanimate object like a microwave or a dehumidifier.

Either you haven't listened to it at all or you're trolling. It's one thing to say you don't like it, but not liking it due to a lack of melody - wtf???

low are about as melodic as you can get! i can understand not liking them, they are quite a specific taste, but its ridiculous to say they're not melodic of all things.

I'm glad it's not just me - thought I'd find out what they were like for myself, disappointed really. Had to turn it off.

To be fair, no they ain't tuneless - just not my cup of tea, bit too slow. Upon reflection the odd track in a mix would be ok (such as the above) but a whole album - which is what I attempted to listen to earlier was overkill and just annoyed me.
