what's sandwich spread?
And surely if you have a roast, you have gravy?

As for the roast - I'm veggy and actually I didn't have an oven (they're not common in Japan) - so I couldn't have a roast at all - but we'd try and find an oven once a year (actually always for Thanksgiving as the nearest other ex-pats were American) and I'd roast as many veg as I could whilst they made bizarre marshmallow topped sweet pumpkin pies...

Yes, it's the one after the prison. The stop is actually called 'New Park Road'. Get off the bus, cross the road and go down the short alley that runs down the side of The Telegraph (yes, the grey pub) and you'll find yourself on New Park Road. The deli is over the other side of the street just to your left.

What the hell is in that?

Spirit Vinegar, Sugar, Cabbage, Vegetable Oil, Carrots, Gherkins (contain Firming Agent - Calcium Chloride), Modified Cornflour, Salt, Onions, Egg Yolks, Red Peppers, Mustard, Mustard Seeds, Stabilisers - Guar Gum and Xanthan Gum, Spice Extracts, Spices, Herb Extract, Garlic Extract, Colour - Riboflavin VEGETABLES: 35%

I was addicted to the stuff when I was eleven.

I am usually heading up the hill about 6pm, if you can't figure out any other assistance to get to it - and need it -(Nell is open till 7) PM me and we'll figure something out.

what a kind offer, what lovely urbans :)
I'm planning on going early but I think I'll be alright, I shall muddle through.

Whatever cake Nell happens to have made for that day, make sure you have a slice.

If she has the vegetarian sausages there (in green plastic wraps), they work incredibly well for the 'outside' of a vegetarian scotch egg, if you want to make your own.

If you don't get it sorted during the day, PM me with a contact number before 5pm any weekday and I'll sort out something. The trip into the wastelands beyond Brixton Water Lane is well worth it.

I craved houmous when I was in asia. (This was years back, maybe it's easier to find there now).

Not very sendable though :o

(I know its easy to make, can't remember why I didn't - maybe I didn'tknow what was in it back then :D)

My mum used to regularly send me cheese to Japan, it was always fine - sometimes a little sweaty, but not to any major extent. She also once sent me a large piece of Chrismas cake icing and marzipan, that freaked out my co-workers a bit. When me brother came to visit I made him bring me a bottle of Vimto, he was not happy about that.

I went up to spoon and its a lovely little shop with some decent stuff there and are very helpful so I will almost certainly go back :)

Only just noticed this post! Glad you made it up the hill to the wilds of New Park Road and that you liked Spoon. It really is a grand little shop.

:)
