when's the last time you played football?

Today at lunchtime in my company's weekly trip to the local sports centre for 5-a-side where me, a lowly graduate who's been there 5 months, gets to kick people several levels above me and up to 20 years my senior. I played pretty well today, not being over-ambitious with my somewhat limited skills and ended up with a hat-trick, including one where I nicked in at the near post to knock a corner through the defender's legs. :)

I'd love to, but the 2 hour round trip to get there would annoy me a tad.
I'd love to, but the 16-hour round trip would do my head in :p

Wednesday, 5-a-sides, carrying a back injury. Still scored a couple, but I let my team down by not being able to run the length of myself to chase a ball.

I haven't played in probably over a year now, but I've been doing some running and weights in the gym so I'm in decent shape and this morning I managed to find a website that organises pick-up games in New York parks so I'm hopefully going to be making my US debut either mid-week or next weekend.

Bout 4 weeks ago. Play 5 aside with work, but got really bored of it cos it's on a tiny pitch and playing the same people every week and we can't slide tackle or head or dink the ball over the top or smack it out for a throw in with an onrunning striker bearing down and those are pretty much my skills in a nutshell.

Will play again soon, just fed up of the limitations of indoor football.

every Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
Although i reffed yesterday on account of being very very drunk. :D

am interested to see who actually plays football or who just watches....

unless you count kicking a sponge ball around the flat with my daugher, i'd say the last time i played was about 5 years ago! and that was just a silly game in the park after a night out. i didn't score :(

Probably ten years ago, with a group of artists and tree surgeons who worked for the City.

You'd think the city workers would be the best, but it wasn't so. The best player was this short sculptor, who makes these lifesize figures out of ceramic doughnut shapes. That little fucker could catch that ball and get a touchdown every time.

I kind of sucked as quarterback, mainly because I can't throw accurately, but I'm not a bad receiver or running back. This one cityworker's wife was watching; she was also a cityworker. She was a recent German emigrant, but she still knew enough about the culture to belittle me for my inferior throwing ability.
